Mayor/Manager Meeting
The City of Mendota Heights was the host on
Friday for the monthly Dakota County
Mayor/Manager meeting. The meeting
featured a presentation by Patterson
Companies President and CEO Scott
Anderson who talked about why Mendota
Heights and Dakota County are excellent
homes for corporate headquarters. The
presentation was well received by all of those
in attendance and had an excellent question
and answer session as a part of the meeting.
This monthly meeting provides mayors and
city administrators from throughout the county
a chance to network and discuss relevant
topics that are applicable to all of the cities.
Mendota Heights was happy to be the host for
the April meeting.
Emergency Preparedness Training
On Friday morning, Jake Sedlacek participated
in an emergency preparedness exercise hosted
by Dakota County. The purpose of the
exercise was to practice our plans to provide
medication to mission-critical staff in the event
that a health pandemic occurs.
There were enough participants to fill 5
discussion groups, which enhanced the
experience as staff from various communities
had a chance to walk through plans together.
The county has already done a full-scale
exercise on providing medication to the full
community, this particular plan is intended to
ensure that each community can provide basic
services in a variety of emergency situations.
Thank You Mary!
Mary Hapka will be leaving the city next week
to pursue other endeavors. Mary has been a
very valuable asset to the city since 2007 and
will be sorely missed. Mary performs many of
the human resource functions for the city and
plays a role in each of our workdays. Thank
you very much Mary for all that you have done
for each and every one of us at the city. Your
willingness to help each of us with our issues
no matter how big or small is appreciated by
all of us. Your energy and infectious smile
brightened our workplace and for that we are
all thankful. Mary’s last day with the city will
be next Tuesday. Please stop by and say
thank you to Mary for her service and wish her
luck in her next life adventure. Good luck to
you Mary!

Representative Hansen
John Mazzitello and Jake Sedlacek visited
the state office building at the request of
Representative Hansen on Wednesday.
John provided an update of activities
underway to treat Rogers Lake for non -
invasive weeds. Representative Hansen
wanted to know more about planning
efforts to protect the water quality of
Rogers Lake and other storm water ponds
in the community. Also present was staff
from Minnesota Board of Water and Soil
Resources, who were also curious to hear
more about Mendota Heights efforts, and
to discuss potential funding sources.
City Happenings
Next week will bring another round of
meetings and events for city staff and
council. Along with the regular city council
meeting, Mayor Krebsbach and David
McKnight will meet with representatives
from the school district to get an update on
the work that is going on. In addition the
mayor and administrator will also participate
in the last meeting of the first phase of the
renewed High Performance Partnership
project. HiPP is made up of all the cities
and the county and provides a forum to
look at possible collaborative projects that
can be performed to better serve the public.
City staff will also be participating in the
Dakota Futures Broadband Summit that will
take place in Burnsville. Work continues as
normal at city hall even with all of the
changes that have occurred. If you have
