09 15 23 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 9/8/23, 0158 HOURS, HWY 62/LEXINGTON AVE DWI Officer was on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Highway 13 /Highway 62. Officer followed the vehicle and observed it to drive through a construction zone that was labeled a no thru street. Vehicle also had expired tabs. Vehicle was stopped at Highway 62 and Lexington Avenue. Driver was arrested for 4th Degree DWI and was booked into the Dakota County Jail. 9/8/23, 1640 HOURS, LEXINGTON AVE/VICTORIA CURVE PD ACCIDENT Vehicle #2 was driving north on Lexington Ave near the intersection of Victoria Rd. Vehicle #1 made an unlawful U-turn in front of vehicle #2 at Victoria Curve. Vehicle #2 was unable to stop or avoid hitting vehicle #1. Driver of vehicle #1 stated that he had a hard time seeing traffic due to the sun. Vehicle #1 was at fault. 9/8/23, 2205 HOURS, HWY 62/LEXINGTON AVE TRAFFIC STOP Officer was on routine patrol at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Highway 62. Officer observed a vehicle with two violations and initiated a traffic stop at Interstate 35E and Shepard Road. Driver was cited and evidence was taken from the vehicle. 9/9/23, 1346 HOURS, 1XXX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY ARSON Caller reported something burning in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Hwy 13. The item that was burning was a "porta potty." The object was a total loss. There is video of a vehicle entering the area, and leaving. But there is no video of the fire being started. Officer checked with Holiday to see if they could find a gas sale of a very small amount. Pending that information. 9/10/23, 0145 HOURS, HWY 13/GARDEN LN FLEEING Officers attempted to stop a vehicle at Shepard Rd/35E for expired tabs and altered plate. After officers initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle fled. Officers did not pursue due to the totality of the circumstances. No suspect information at this time. 9/10/23, 0222 HOURS, 35E/HWY 13 WARRANT Officers observed two people attempting to walk a bicycle up an exit ramp on 35E/Highway 13. Officers IDed both parties. One of the parties had two felony warrants. Officers placed the male under arrest and transported him to jail. September 8th—September 14th, 2023 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 9/10/23, 0339 HOURS, WENTWORTH AVE/DODD RD TRAFFIC STOP Officer was parked on Highway 13 and Wachtler Avenue conducting speed enforcement. Vehicle drove past officer at a high rate of speed. Officer stopped the driver who admitted to alcohol use, was put through roadside SFST's and was arrested on a DWI. After completing the DMT, the driver was below the legal limit and was released from custody and provided a citation for speed. 9/10/23, 1100 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR FIGHT Officer was flagged down near the 1300 block of Northland Drive for a fight in progress. After detaining one party and rendering medical aid to another, the primary aggressor was sent to the hospital and charges will be forthcoming. 9/11/23, 1733 HOURS, 12XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD THREATS Officers responded to a threats call near the 1200 block of Mendota Heights Road. Reporting party stated that a known person had made threats about other locations in different cities and could have been going to those locations. Officers located the suspect and placed them under arrest for the threats. Suspect transported to jail. 9/12/23, 1851 HOURS, 23XX PUEBLO LN DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Officer responded to the 2300 block of Pueblo Ln for a report of vandalism. Officer arrived and found the 5 suspects still in the area. They were positively identified by the reporting party. After speaking with the suspects, officer decided to release them and investigate further. Case pending. 9/13/23, 1912 HOURS, 2XXX VICTORIA RD RUNAWAY Officers received a report of a runaway from the 2000 block of Victoria Road. Officers found the juvenile in the back yard a few blocks away. Juvenile was compliant and went back without incident. Shortly after, same juvenile violated the rights of his conditions and was sent back to Dakota County JDC. No further charges, information only. 9/13/23, 2305 HOURS, HWY 13/WACHTLER AVE FLEEING Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Highway 13 / Wachtler Ave. When officer approached the vehicle, the vehicle fled. Officers did not initiate a pursuit due to the totality of the circumstances at the time. An alert was put out on the vehicle and the driver's identity is not known at this time. September 8th—September 14th, 2023 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report 9/14/23, 0320 HOURS, HWY 494/ARGENTA TR DRUGS Officers stopped out on a welfare check with a vehicle that pulled over in front of officers. Driver appeared to be unconscious. Officers observed drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. Officers woke up the male and located drugs inside of the vehicle. Officers arrested the male and transported him to jail. 9/14/23, 0815 HOURS, 23XX LEXINGTON AVE THEFT Officer responded to 2300 block of Lexington Ave for a report of a catalytic converter theft. Officer gathered information. Case inactive. 9/14/23, 1735 HOURS, HWY 13/MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD DOMESTIC ASSAULT Officers were dispatched to a disturbance near the intersection of Highway 13 and Mendota Heights Rd. Upon arrival, one party was detained, and the incident was determined to be a Domestic Assault. Due to the suspect being under the influence, they were transported to the hospital and a citation was mailed. 9/14/23, 2104 HOURS, 1X HINGHAM CI DOMESTIC ASSAULT Officers were dispatched to a domestic on the 10 block of Hingham Cir. Officers arrived on scene and detained two adult males. Officers spoke with all parties involved and determined that a mutual combat had occurred and not a domestic. Officer gave one of the parties a ride to their residence. Officers cleared the scene without further issue. 9/14/23, 2301 HOURS, 12XX KENDON LN WEAPONS Officers responded to a weapons complaint in the 1200 block of Kendon Lane. Reporting party stated someone brandished a knife. Investigation found the complaint to be unfounded. September 8th—September 14th, 2023
