04 14 23 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report April 7th—April 13th, 2023 04/07/23, 0128 HOURS, 1XXX HWY 62 DWI Officer was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle on the 1000 block of Hwy 62 with the driver asleep in the vehicle. The driver admitted to alcohol use and showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for DWI and possessing a firearm while under the influence. The driver was cited then booked and released from Dakota County Jail. 04/07/23, 0215 HOURS, 13XX NORTHLAND DR DOMESTIC ASSAULT Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of Northland Dr for 911 hang-up call. Dispatch advised that a caller had called 911 then hung up and refused to give a name when called back. Dispatch then advised that staff of building reported hearing yelling and saw someone covered in blood. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with both parties. Both parties were released and refused medical attention. At a later time officers were made aware of a protection order in place related to both parties. Officers were made aware by staff that one party had fled towards Hwy 494. Officers were unable to locate this party but a short time later they were notified the male was back at the hotel. The male was arrested and transported to Dakota County Jail. 04/07/23, 1011 HOURS, 6XX 3RD AVE FRAUD RP came to the PD to report an unemployment scam where someone filed for an unemployment claim in her name. RP was given case number and ID theft resources. 04/07/23, 1221 HOURS, 7XX N PLAZA DR ACCIDENT Officer responded to a single vehicle traffic accident in a parking lot on the 700 block of North Plaza Drive. The driver entered the parking lot then struck a light pole knocking down the top light portion. Airbags were deployed, no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed. 04/07/23, 2024 HOURS, 1214 SOUTHVIEW BLVD WARRANT While participating in a grant funded traffic safety initiative, officer performed a traffic stop near the 1200 block of Southview Boulevard and found the driver to have a warrant. The issuing agency requested a court date be assigned to the party. A court date was issued, and the party was released from custody. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report April 7th—April 13th, 2023 04/08/23, 0218 HOURS, HWY 62/DODD RD AOA Officer was on patrol near the intersection of Dodd Road and Highway 62 when a pursuit was called out by West St. Paul Police Department. Officer assisted by using stop sticks on the suspect vehicle, taking occupants into custody, and searching for another passenger. 04/08/23, 1234 HOURS, 13XX ACACIA BLVD DOG BITE Officer responded to a dog bite complaint on the 1300 block of Acacia Boulevard. Dog owners did not want to speak to each other and had conflicting stories. The dog who had bitten the male party was given quarantine instructions and deemed potentially dangerous. 04/09/23, 2145 HOURS, 8XX MARIE AVE THEFT Officer was dispatched a theft report. Victim stated that her catalytic convertor had been stolen while visiting her dad. No suspect information. 04/10/23, 0813 HOURS, 14XX PERRON RD DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Officer dispatched to the 1400 block of Perron Rd, for a report of vandalism. Reporting party advised that their building was graffitied over the weekend. Officers gathered information and took photos of the damage. Pending security footage. 04/10/23, 0902 HOURS, 6XX KIRCHNER AVE FRAUD Officer was dispatched to an identity theft call on the 600 block of Kirchner Ave. The reporting party stated that someone signed her up for unemployment. She was given a case number and advised where to report the fraud. 04/10/23, 1135 HOURS, 5XX JOHN ST THEFT Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of John St for a theft of license plate call. Reporting party advised that both license plates were taken from his vehicle. No suspects. 04/10/23, 2021 HOURS, 17XX LANSFORD LN FRAUD Officers were dispatched to 1766 Lansford Lane for a fraud report. Dispatch indicated that the reporting party had an iPhone fraudulently purchased with their account and they had received tracking information to an address in Minnesota. Officers were able to intercept the delivery. Under investigation. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report April 7th—April 13th, 2023 04/11/23, 0928 HOURS, 965 SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY FOUND PROPERTY Officer responded to the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Hwy for a report of a silver bike that was abandoned at the store. The bike was placed into evidence for safekeeping. Pending video surveillance. 04/11/23, 1152 HOURS, EAGLE RIDGE DR FOUND PROPERTY Officer took custody of a cell phone that was found near Eagle Ridge Dr by a resident. The phone was placed into evidence for safekeeping. 04/11/23, 1855 HOURS, 965 SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY THEFT Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Highway for a theft. An unknown party had driven away without paying for gas. Information about the suspect received and the case is under investigation. 04/12/23, 0023 HOURS, 13XX ASPEN WAY DOMESTIC ASSAULT Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Aspen Way for a domestic assault call. Officers spoke with an adult female victim. Officers determined probable cause for domestic related charges. Case was forwarded to Dakota County Attorney’s Office for charging. 04/12/23, 0952 HOURS, 24XX VISITATION DR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Officer responded to location on a damage to property call. Reporting party stated that he had a new long, deep scratch that ran from the drivers side door to the front drivers side panel. No suspects. 04/13/23, 0040 HOURS, 12XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD MENTAL HEALTH Officer responded to the 1200 block of Mendota Heights Rd on a female who was experiencing a mental health crisis. The female was transported to a shelter. 04/13/23, 1444 HOURS, 7XX MAIN ST ACCIDENT Officer made contact with a woman who wanted to report a hit and run accident. An unknown vehicle had struck the back of the building causing damage to the brick wall and a sliding glass door. Pending video surveillance. 04/13/23, 1533 HOURS, 12XX CENTRE POINTE CURVE THEFT Officers took a report from a business who stated that items were stolen and then used for criminal activity. Under investigation.
