01 13 23 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report January 6th—January 12th, 2023 01/06/23, 1549 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT Officers took a vehicle theft report on the 900 block of Sibley Memorial Highway. Victim parked her vehicle in the parking lot and when she returned, her vehicle was missing. No surveillance was captured. Case inactive. 01/06/23, 1705 HOURS, HWY 62/35E DISORDERLY CONDUCT Officer was dispatched to call a victim of a road rage incident which concluded at Highway 62 and Interstate 35E. The suspect was identified and mailed a citation for disorderly conduct. Additionally a driver's evaluation will be submitted to DVS for road rage. 01/07/23, 0334 HOURS, SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY/LILYDALE RD DWI Officer stopped a vehicle for speed at the intersection of Sibley Memorial Highway and Lilydale Road. Officer made contact with the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver admitted to alcohol consumption. The driver was put through roadside sobriety tests and arrested for DWI. The driver was charged with 4th -degree DWI and booked into the Dakota County Jail. 01/08/23, 1445 HOURS, 6XX CHEYENNE LN DOG BITE Officer was dispatched to a dog bite near the 600 block of Cheyenne Lane. A dog had attacked another dog in the street causing an injury. After speaking with both parties, the aggressing dog was labeled as Potentially Dangerous with the city. 01/09/23, 1106 HOURS, 16XX LILYDALE RD RECKLESS DRIVING Officer was dispatched to a motorist assist near 1600 Lilydale Road. A car was driving on the bike path, went off the path and got stuck in a snowbank. After speaking with the driver, he was given a citation for the driving conduct and was towed out of the snow. 01/09/23, 1140 HOURS, 2XXX AZTEC LN MEDICAL Officers responded to a medical on the 2100 block of Aztec Lane. Officers gained entry to the residence and assisted medics. The patient was transported to the hospital. 01/09/23, 1911 HOURS, 7XX N PLAZA DR THEFT Officer was dispatched to a theft of a catalytic converter report on the 700 Block of North Plaza Drive. Information gathered and report written. Case is inactive due to low solvability. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report January 6th—January 12th, 2023 01/10/23, 0747 HOURS, 12XX ASPEN WAY BURGLARY/THEFT Officer took a burglary/vehicle theft report from the 1200 block of Aspen Way. A vehicle was taken from the inside of the garage. Officer and homeowner are working to try and locate the vehicle via a tile device left inside the car. Case pending recovery. 01/10/23, 1040 HOURS, 7XX MAIN ST IDENTITY THEFT Officer responded to a report of identity theft. Victim explained that on October 17th, 2022, between 1500-1700 hours, unknown persons used his identity to purchase 6 phones from the Verizon Store located at 740 Main Street. He explained that he did not consent to these phones being purchased in his name and he did not give anyone permission to use his name to purchase them. Under investigation. 01/11/23, 0549 HOURS, HWY 62/DELAWARE AVE PD ACCIDENT Officer responded to a property damage accident that occurred at Hwy 62 and Delaware Ave. One vehicle was stopped southbound Delaware at Hwy 62 and was struck by another. State accident report completed. 01/11/23, 0738 HOURS, SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY/LEXINGTON AVE PD ACCIDENT Officer located an unoccupied vehicle that crashed into a guardrail at Sibley Memorial Hwy and Lexington Ave. Vehicle was towed as it was blocking and causing a hazard. 01/11/23, 2249 HOURS, SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY/WACHTLER AVE WARRANT Officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on the 800 block of Sibley Memorial Hwy. Officer found that the driver had a warrant for their arrest. Driver was arrested and brought to Ramsey County Detention Center. 01/12/23, 0143 HOURS, 9XX HWY 13 ASSAULT Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Highway 13 for an unknown disturbance. Dispatchers could hear yelling from a male and female and what sounded like a physical altercation. While in route, officers were advised a male suspect was leaving in a tan S.U.V. Officer located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was compliant however the male passenger was belligerent and not compliant. The male passenger was ultimately arrested for terroristic threats and assault for the initial disturbance call. Obstruction and 4th degree assault charges were later added when he resisted arrest. Passenger was booked into the Dakota County Jail until judicial review. The female driver was released with no charges.
