07 08 22 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 1st - July 7th, 2022 07/01/2022, 0825 HOURS, 6XX HIDDEN CREEK TR THEFT Resident from Hidden Creek neighborhood reported that two vehicles in the driveway had been gone through. One vehicle had a purse taken, the other had a wallet taken. The time frame is not positively known, but happened sometime after 1730 on 06-30-2022. There are no known suspects. 07/01/2022, 0910 HOURS, 13XX WACHTLER AVE THEFT Officer was contacted by a party living near the 1300 block of Wachtler Avenue who had a chainsaw stolen out of his driveway. The security cameras did not capture any images of the suspect. Inactive. 07/01/2022, 0948 HOURS, ELLEN ST/DELAWARE AVE WELFARE CHECK Officers were called to the area of Delaware Ave and Ellen St for a welfare check. It was reported that a male party should be checked on who was sitting in a car with a flat tire. Officers made contact with a male party who was well known to all officers. The situation was de -escalated as best as could be and everyone left the area. 07/01/2022, 1421 HOURS, 1XX STONEBRIDGE RD THEFT A woman who lives near the 100 block of Stonebridge Road came to the Police Department to report that one of her vehicle license plates had been stolen at an unknown time. She had already reported it to the DMV, turned in the other plate and received new license plates. The report is to ensure that the taken plate can be identified as stolen. 07/02/2022, 0337 HOURS, MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD/LEXINGTON AVE PURSUIT Officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 900 block of Mendota Heights Road. The driver refused to pull over and accelerated with the intent to evade the officer. The vehicle became mechanically disabled on the 600 block of Mendota Heights Road. Both occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. Officers attempted a search by drone and K9, however they unable to locate the individuals. Officers later discovered possible identifications for the occupants. Under investigation. 07/03/2022, 0052 HOURS, 18XX WALSH LN DOMESTIC Officers were called to location on a domestic that had occurred. The male party was cited for domestic assault and transported to Dakota County Jail. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 1st - July 7th, 2022 7/03/2022, 0401 HOURS, HWY 62/35E DWI Officer was travelling southbound on 35e and observed a vehicle swerving over lane lines. Vehicle exited at westbound Hwy 62. Officer stopped vehicle and determined the driver to be intoxicated. Driver was arrested and charged with DUI. 7/04/2022, 0909 HOURS, 2XXX PATRICIA ST AOA Officers responded to the 2000 block of Patricia Street on a report of a possible stolen trailer being parked at the location. One trailer was impounded for further investigation. 7/04/2022, 1422 HOURS, 7XX N. PLAZA DR THEFT Officer dispatched to a theft in progress at the 700 block of North Plaza Dr. The reporting party advised that the male suspect stole products from the store and left in a vehicle. Officer checked the area for the vehicle but was unable to locate it. A license plate was obtained. Under investigation. 7/04/2022, 1432 HOURS, 7XX N. PLAZA DR THEFT Officer was dispatched to a theft report on the 700 block of North Plaza Dr. The reporting party stated that a male and female stole items from the store. Officer gathered information from staff. Officer collected security footage from the store. Under investigation. 7/04/2022, 1537 HOURS, 13XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY WELFARE CHECK Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of Sibley Memorial Highway for a welfare check on a female who was seen checking door handles to businesses. Officer determined the female was a missing person out of another city. Female was transported to the hospital. 7/04/2022, 1750 HOURS, 35E/SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Citizen called to report graffiti on a bridge deck under Sibley Memorial Hwy at 35E. The MN Department of Transportation was notified. 7/04/2022, 2225 HOURS, MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD/PILOT KNOB RD DWI Officer were dispatched to an accident on Mendota Heights Road and Pilot Knob Rd. Officer arrived on scene and determined one of the drivers was impaired. Driver was placed under arrest for DWI and booked in to the Dakota County Jail. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 1st - July 7th, 2022 7/04/2022, 2245 HOURS, MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD/LEXINGTON AVE DWI Officer conducted a traffic stop on the 1000 block of Mendota Heights Road and believed the driver was impaired so conducted a roadside field sobriety test. The driver was determined to be over the legal limit and was arrested for Gross Misdemeanor DWI- 1 aggravating factor, and Gross Misdemeanor DWI- Test Refusal. The vehicle and three toddlers were released to their mother who was called to pick them up. The driver was booked and released from the Dakota County Jail. 7/05/2022, 0958 HOURS, 12XX LILYDALE RD THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE Officer responded to location on a theft from motor vehicle report that occurred within the past hour. Video was obtained from the vehicles USB storage device and a suspect and suspect vehicle are on camera. A license plate was not obtained. No suspects at this time. 7/05/2022, 1017 HOURS, 14XX COMMERCE DR THEFT Officer was called in reference to a theft of a catalytic converter near the 1400 block of Commerce Drive. The theft took place sometime over the holiday weekend and there is no available security footage of the incident. There is no available suspect information. 7/05/2022, 1836 HOURS, 5XX HIAWATHA AVE THEFT Officer was dispatched to a report of a theft of a catalytic converter. There are no suspects and no camera footage of the incident. Case status is inactive. 7/05/2022, 1905 HOURS, 3XX E ST OFP VIOLATION Officer was dispatched to a welfare check on the 300 block of E Street. Officers determined there was an order for protection in place that was being violated. The male was placed in to custody and transported to Dakota County Jail. 7/06/2022, 0735 HOURS, WINDY RIDGE PL THEFT Officer was dispatched to location by a resident who had their vehicle gone through in the early morning hours. The reporting party provided security footage of the incident and it was found that the suspects were in two vehicles and one of them was stolen out of Inver Grove Heights just 10 minutes prior. No suspects at this time. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report July 1st - July 7th, 2022 7/06/2022, 0859 HOURS, 2XXX PATRICIA ST POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY Officers served a warrant on the 2000 block of Patricia St in relation to stolen property reports received in the county. The suspect was arrested during the execution of the warrant and stolen property was recovered. The suspect was transported to Dakota County Jail. 7/06/2022, 2034 HOURS, 35E/494 DAMAGE TO PROPERTY Officer had stop sticks set up to use on a fleeing vehicle coming from a neighboring agency. The rope for stop sticks got caught on a passing car and pulled the sticks into the roadway causing damage to an innocent vehicle. 7/07/2022, 1014 HOURS, 9XX DIEGO LN THEFT Officer was dispatched in reference to a theft from motor vehicle report. A video of the suspect was collected from a neighbor yet there are no solvability factors. 7/07/2022, 1344 HOURS, 8XX PARK PLACE DR THEFT Officer called in to report a theft from motor vehicle that happened sometime overnight. Items were taken. No suspects at this time. 7/07/2022, 1551 HOURS, 7XX WENTWORTH AVE THEFT Officer took a report from a resident who reported they had mail theft. No suspect information.
