06 24 22 WEEKLY CRIME REPORT 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report June 17th - June 23rd, 2022 6/18/2022, 1030 HOURS, 9XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL THEFT FROM MV Officer took a report from a victim of a theft from motor vehicle. Report filed, investigation pending. 6/18/2022, 1452 HOURS, 1XXX NORTHLAND DR AUTO PART THEFT Officer was dispatched to take a report of a catalytic converter theft. The reporting party advised that his vehicle's catalytic converter was stolen over the weekend. Officer gathered information; case inactive. 6/18/2022, 1423 HOURS, 2XXX EXECUTIVE DR ATTEMPTED THEFT Officer took a report from the victim of an attempted theft of auto parts. The suspect was scared off and a video of the suspect and vehicle was obtained. Case is under investigation. 6/18/2022, 1705 HOURS, I-494/HWY 13 TS/DWI Officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and upon making contact, suspected the driver was impaired. Driver refused all roadside tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. Driver provided a DMT test and was cited for 4th degree DWI. Driver was booked and released at the Dakota County Jail. 6/19/2022, 2000 HOURS 1XXX NORTHLAND DR THEFT FROM AUTO Officer took a report of theft and tampering with a motor vehicle. Reporting parties vehicle was parked overnight and had a smashed window and numerous items stolen from the inside. Case inactive. 6/20/2022, 0147 HOURS, 2XXX PILOT KNOB RD AUTO THEFT Officer on patrol located a semi-truck and trailer abandoned in the roadway. Officer checked area and found no driver. Officer contacted owner and notified of abandoned/stolen vehicle. Vehicle was moved back to parking lot and turned off. Officer took pictures and wrote report for theft of trailer. 6/20/2022, 1939 HOURS, I-35E/I-494 FLEEING Officer spotted a vehicle involved in a theft within another jurisdiction. Officer attempted to stop vehicle and it fled. KOPS alert issued; case inactive. 6/21/2022, 1407 HOURS, WACHTLER/RIVERSIDE WARRANT ARREST Officer conducted a traffic stop and found the vehicle driver had two active warrants. Once they were confirmed, the driver was taken into custody and he was booked into jail on the warrants.  1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report June 17th - June 23rd, 2022 6/21/2022, 2135 HOURS, I-35E/WAGON WHEEL TRL TAX EVASION Officer observed a vehicle with expired registration. Owner of the same vehicle had been stopped and cited on multiple occasions for that offense. Owner will be formally charged for tax evasion. 6/22/2022, 0337 HOURS, 1XXX LILAC LN ASSIST PUBLIC Officers dispatched to assist State Patrol on the Mendota Bridge for an adult male walking in the construction area with a bruise on his face. Officer made contact with the adult male who said he was in a physical altercation with a friend in the area of Marie Park in Mendota Heights. The adult male refused to give further information. Informational report written. 6/22/2022, 0435 HOURS, MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD/BRIDGEVIEW POSSESS STOLEN ITEMS Officer was on routine patrol traveling north bound on the 2100 block of Dodd Road. Officer observed a van come off of South Plaza Way and followed the vehicle. Officer stopped the van for a moving viola- tion. During the stop, Officer observed a cut off catalytic converter in the trunk. Officer also learned the adult male driver had a warrant for his arrest. The van was towed and the driver was transported to jail. 6/21/2022, 2357 HOURS, DODD RD/HWY 55 FLEEING Officer attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle for traffic violations on Dodd Road at Highway 55. The driver refused to pull over and accelerated rapidly away from the officer. The officer did not engage in a pursuit. Nearby police agencies were advised of the fleeing motorcyclist. 6/22/2022, 1200 HOURS, 1XXX LILYDALE RD THEFT FROM AUTO Officer responded take reports of theft from auto and found their windows were broken and items in plain view had been stolen. Case inactive. 6/23/2022, 1539 HOURS, 7XX MARKET ST FRAUD Officer was called to a bank in reference to a woman attempting to cash a stolen check. The female sus- pect and her boyfriend were contacted and information was gathered; formal felony charges pending.
