04 22 22 JTF 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 Mendota Heights Police Department Weekly Crime Report April 15th - 21st, 2022 4/14/2022, 1600 HOURS, 16XX LILYDALE RD THEFT Officers took a theft report from a reporting party who stated an unknown person broke into a construction trailer and stole tools from inside. Officer waiting for tool information. Case active. 4/16/2022, 0345 HOURS, I -35E & HWY 62 AOA Officer was traveling northbound I-35E and Highway 62 on routine patrol. Officer observed a vehicle matching the description in which an adult male suspect left from an incident in a different city. Officer stopped the vehicle and the suspect was arrested. The custody of the male was transferred to the originating agency. 4/16/2022, 1855 HOURS, DODD RD & MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD DWI Officers were dispatched to an accident at Dodd Road and Mendota Heights Road. Officers made contact with both parties involved. Reporting party’s vehicle had been struck but the striking vehicle had not initially stopped to exchange information. Further investigation revealed the driver of the striking vehicle to be intoxicated and was arrested for Gross Misdemeanor DWI. 4/17/2022, 0011 HOURS, I -35E & WAGON WHEEL TRL JUV—TRAFFIC Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 35E at Wagon Wheel. Vehicle fled from the officer but was later located. Vehicle was occupied by two juvenile males. Juveniles were cited and parents were contacted. 4/18/2022, 0349 HOURS, 11XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY DWI Officer was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle stopped in the lane of travel. As officer stopped behind the vehicle, the vehicle began to drive off and eventually drove through a yard. Officer stopped the vehicle and identified the adult male driver. Officer believed the male was intoxicated. Field Sobriety tests were conducted and the male was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to jail. 4/18/2022, 0600 HOURS, 24XX PILOT KNOB RD THEFT FROM AUTO Employee from a business discovered that the catalytic converter had been stolen from his vehicle. There are no known suspects. 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118 * Non-Emergency 651.452.1366 4/18/2022, 1230 HOURS, 23XX WATERS DR THEFT FROM AUTO Officer was dispatched to call the reporting party for a theft of a catalytic converter that occurred earlier in the day. Case is inactive. 4/18/2022, 1515 HOURS, 25XX LEXINGTON AVE FRAUD ATTEMPT Responded to take a report at a local business. An employee reported that an unknown person had changed their bank account number for payroll direct deposit. Case is under investigation. 4/19/2022, 0226 HOURS, I-35E & WAGON WHEEL TS—DRUGS Officer stopped vehicle for speed and upon stopping the vehicle, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw an open bottle near the passenger. Officer ultimately searched the vehicle and found suspected drugs. Two adult males and one adult female were detained at the stop. All parties were released at the scene and drugs were submitted for testing; case pending test results. 4/19/2022, 0430 HOURS, 7XX STANWICH LN BURGLARY Officers took a burglary report from a resident, who stated an unknown party entered the house through an open garage door and took items from inside. Information gathered, investigation active. 4/19/2022, 0735 HOURS, 13XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY AUTO THEFT Officers were dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle. Vehicle was stolen from the driveway with the keys in the car. Vehicle entered as stolen. Neighboring agencies notified. Case inactive pending recovery of the vehicle.
