Minnesota Statutes Chapter 13D-Meeting by telephone or other electronic means: MN stat. 13D.021 provides
that a meeting of a public body may be conducted via telephone or other electronic means if meeting in a
public location is not practical or prudent because of a health pandemic or declared emergency.
The Mendota Heights City Council declared a local emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 17,
2020. As a part of this action, until further notice city council and other public meetings may be held by
telephone or through other electronic means, with social distancing measures in place. All public meetings
will continue to follow the requirements of the Minnesota Open Meeting Law.
Members of the public may monitor the meeting via the telephone. Members of the public will be placed into a
waiting room while the Council is in Closed Session.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will hold a closed Special City Council meeting pursuant
to Minnesota Statutes,Section 13D.04,subdivision 2,on Monday, May 24, 2021, commencing at 1:30
p.m., via telephone or other electronic means, for the following purposes:
1. CLOSED SESSION. Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes,Section 13D.05,subdivision
3(b), to conduct a closed session pursuant to the attorney-client privilege to
engage in confidential attorney-client communications and litigation strategy
related to a potential litigation related to the potential appeal of a
determination by the Public Employees Retirement Association.
