04 24 20 JTF 1 PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT — 13XX NORTHLAND DR 04/17/20, 1253 HOURS Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on the 1300 block of Northland Drive. The crash happened on private property, there were no injuries, and the damage was minimal. WELFARE CHECK/MENTAL HEALTH — 13XX NORTHLAND DR 04/17/20, 1654 HOURS Officers responded to the 1300 block of Northland Dr. on reports of a welfare check. Reporting party wanted us to check on a male who was hearing things and seeing things not present and said he was in a fight a few nights ago because someone was talking about him. MENTAL HEALTH — 1XXX HUNTER LN 04/18/20, 1805 HOURS Officers responded to location for a burglary in progress. Suspect ended up being a vulnerable adult with a severe disability. Officers were able to locate his family and return him safely home. No charges will be filed in the case. UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY — 9XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD 04/18/20, 2355 HOURS Officers with assistance of surrounding agencies took enforcement action on a large amount of street racers actively engaging in street racing on the 900 block of Mendota Heights Road. Officers issued citations and warnings for unlawful assembly. One driver was arrested by the state patrol for felony fleeing police. IDENTITY THEFT — 1X HINGHAM CI 04/19/20, 0939 HOURS Officer dispatched to the 10 block of Hingham Circle on a fraud report. Officer called the adult male reporting party who said that someone had tried to file for unemployment using his social security number. Reporting party believed it may have been related to previous mail theft that occurred at his residence in February 2019. CIVIL ASSIST — 13XX NORTHLAND DR 04/19/20, 1643 HOURS Officers responded to a phone call report of a runaway. Parent reported that his daughter has been staying at a hotel on the 1300 block of Northland Dr. for a month now with a friend and their mom and now wants her to come home. Officers spoke with the daughter and she was ultimately left to stay because she wouldn't come with officers and was safe, happy and healthy. Father was updated and provided solutions to mitigate tensions at home to make daughter want to come home. OFP — 13XX NORTHLAND DR 04/20/20, 0017 HOURS Officer ran a license plate of a vehicle in the 1300 block of Northland Drive and was alerted the registered owner had an unserved order for protection. Officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle who was the registered owner. Officer served the individual with order for protection and provided them with a copy. Dispatch was advised of the notification and provided an update to the courts. 04.17.20—4.23.20 2 SUSPICIOUS PERSON — DODD RD/WAGON WHEEL TRAIL 04/20/20, 0455 HOURS Officer stopped out and spoke with two individuals seen walking on Dodd Road at Wagon Wheel Trail. Officer was alerted one of the males had a warrant out of Scott County. It was determined Scott County would not accept the male due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Male was given a new court date in lieu of being taken to jail. THEFT FROM VEHICLE — 14XX NORTHLAND DR 04/20/20, 0608 HOURS Officer dispatched to a theft report at the 1400 block of Northland Drive. Officer called adult male reporting party who said his work truck had been broken into and copper wire spools were stolen. Business provided video of suspect vehicle and 2 suspects. Under investigation. SUSPICIOUS PERSON — 11XX NORTHLAND DR 04/20/20, 0751 HOURS Responded to the 1100 block of Northland Drive on a report of a suspicious unoccupied vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle had been taken without permission by the owner's son who was experiencing a mental health crisis. The vehicle will be removed as soon as possible. No charges filed. THEFT — 5XX MENDOTA RD 04/20/20, 0950 HOURS Resident in the 500 block of Mendota Rd reported a wheelchair stolen from the end of the driveway while its owner was walking down the street. No suspects or witnesses. Value of the wheelchair is about $5000. Investigation ongoing. DOG BITE — 5XX HIAWATHA AVE 04/20/20, 1004 HOURS Officer dispatched to a dog bite report at the 500 block of Hiawatha Avenue. Officer made contact with adult male reporting party who said that he was bitten by a dog on 4/19/2020 and that he did not need medical attention. Officer obtained statement from reporting party. Officer made contact with an adult female resident of the home where the dog lives. Dog will be deemed potentially dangerous. CIVIL ASSIST — 13XX NORTHLAND DR 04/20/20, 1725 HOURS Officers responded to the 1300 block of Northland Drive on reports of a guest unable to pay for their room after staying. Upon arrival officer met with staff who verified the amount that needed to be paid. Officer checked with the tenant who wasn't able to pay. Officer told him to collect his belongings. AOA/THEFT OF MAIL — 3XX RUNGE LN 04/21/20, 0744 HOURS While on routine patrol West St. Paul officers were dispatched to theft of mail in the 300 block of Runge Lane. Located vehicle in the 1100 block of Dodd Road in Mendota Heights. Vehicle pulled into a business in the 1000 block of Dodd Road in West St. Paul. Traffic stop initiated. Occupants identified. West St. Paul PD Officers arrived and took custody of occupants and towed the vehicle pending a search warrant. 04.17.20—4.23.20 3 FRAUD — 11XX CENTRE POINTE CURVE 04/21/20, 1028 HOURS Responded to the 1100 block of Centre Pointe Curve on a report of Securities Fraud. Investigation determined no loss and information was passed on to the FBI. FRAUD — 12XX DELAWARE AVE 04/21/20, 1413 HOURS Resident in the 1200 block of Delaware Ave reported being scammed by a person claiming to represent Xcel Energy. Victim paid over $300 to suspect via a Green Dot gift card. Investigation into phone numbers and email addresses used to be conducted. FRAUD — 12XX NORTHLAND DR 04/22/20, 0959 HOURS Officers were contacted by an employee working near the 1200 block of Northland Dr. who was reporting the attempted fraudulent cashing of company checks on four different occasions. The company ’s bank noticed the fraud and prevented the loss of funds. There is no suspect information. DWI — HWY 62/LEXINGTON AVE 04/23/20, 0030 HOURS Officer stopped a vehicle on Hwy 62 near Lexington Ave. The officer noticed the signs of impairment and administered SFST’s. After SFST’s, it was determined the driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. A search warrant was granted and a blood test was completed. The driver was released pending the results of the blood test. THEFT FROM VEHICLE— 23XX LEXINGTON AVE 04/23/20, 2011 HOURS Resident in the 2300 block of Lexington Ave called to report someone went into his unlocked vehicle and stole items from the vehicle.
