02 28 20 WEEK IN REVIEW 1 THREATS/STALKING— 2XXX CENTRE POINT BLVD 02/21/20, 1453 HOURS Business in the 2000 block of Centre Pointe Blvd wanted to report harassing phone calls. Two management employees reported a former client had called numerous times over the span of a week making threats to whomever answered the phone. The business is in the process of obtaining a HRO. DOMESTIC ASSAULT— 8XX CARMEN LANE 02/21/20, 1910 HOURS Officers responded to the 800 block on Carmen Lane on reports of a domestic. Upon arrival evidence was found that a domestic with strangulation had occurred and the suspect was arrested and transported to jail. DWI— 900 SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY 02/22/20, 0118 HOURS Officer conducted a welfare check on a stalled motorist on the 900 block of Highway 13. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment and conducted a field sobriety test. The driver was determined to be over the legal limit and was placed under arrest. The driver refused to take the breath test and was booked into the Dakota County Jail for Gross Misdemeanor DWI Test Refusal. The vehicle was legally parked in a parking lot. DISORDERLY CONDUCT— 18XX DELAWARE AVE 02/22/20, 1500 HOURS Responded to the 1800 block of Delaware Avenue on a report that two juvenile were engaged in fighting. Juvenile citations were issued to the juveniles for Disorderly Conduct. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE— 13XX SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY 02/22/20, 2118 HOURS Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of Highway 13 on a report of a theft from motor vehicle. Officer spoke with the victim who stated she parked at approximately 1930 hours and returned around 2100 hours and discovered the rear window was smashed and briefcase was stolen. No suspect information is available at this time. UNINSURED MOTOR VEHICLE— HWY 62/HWY 13 02/23/20, 0210 HOURS Officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 62 at Lexington Avenue and discovered the driver did not have motor vehicle insurance for the vehicle. Officer issued a citation for the insurance violation and allowed the driver to arrange for a ride. Officer later observed the vehicle driving away after being told not drive without insurance and initiated another traffic stop. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was impounded. Driver was booked and released from the Dakota County Jail for Misdemeanor Uninsured Motor Vehicle. 2 DWI — YANKEE DOODLE RD/CENTRAL PARKWAY 02/23/20, 2203 HOURS While on a traffic stop a vehicle passed officers without slowing or moving over. Officers caught up with the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers detected signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests. Driver refused to do field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI and driving after revocation. Driver took the evidentiary breath test and blew over the legal limit. Driver was transported to jail. TRAFFIC STOP/DRUGS — PILOT KNOB RD/494 02/24/20, 0147 HOURS Officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Pilot Knob Rd / Interstate 494. Consent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine. Both driver and passenger were arrested and taken to Dakota County Jail. Referred to Drug Task Force. DANCO VIOLATION — 3XX E ST 02/24/20, 1954 HOURS Officer dispatched to the 300 block of E Street to take a report of a DANCO violation. Investigation ongoing. STOLEN PLATES — 7XX HWY 62 02/24/20, 2228 HOURS Officer took a report of a stolen license plate from the 700 block of Highway 62. A vehicle that was parked in the parking lot had a missing rear license plate. Plates entered as stolen. Driver advised to get new plates. DISORDERLY CONDUCT — 18XX DELAWARE AVE 02/25/20, 1106 HOURS Responded to the 1800 block of Delaware Avenue on a report of two juveniles engaged in brawling. The juveniles were separated and subsequently released to parents. Juvenile citations issued to both juveniles. DISORDERLY CONDUCT — 18XX DELAWARE AVE 02/25/20, 1225 HOURS Responded to the 1800 block of Delaware Avenue on a report of a student that was being disorderly and trying to engage another student in a fight. One juvenile citation was issued for Disorderly Conduct and the juvenile was released to a parent. ASSIST OTHER AGENCY — HWY 13/MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD 02/25/20, 1252 HOURS Officer responded to a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries. Officer located the motorcycle operator who was non-compliant. Male was handcuffed, escorted to ambulance and then turned care over to paramedics and MN State Trooper. FIGHT — 13XX NORTHLAND DR 02/25/20, 2133 HOURS Officer responded to a fight where dispatch advised there were an unknown number of people physically fighting and a knife may be involved. Parties matching the description given were detained and questioned. After investigation, they were released without charges and evicted from the premises. 3 HRO VIOLATION — 7XX MOHICAN LANE 02/25/20, 2023 HOURS Officer dispatched to the 700 block of Mohican Lane to take a report of an HRO Violation. Case forwarded to city attorney for charging consideration. PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT — 15XX VICTORIA RD 02/26/20, 0913 HOURS Responded to a business in the 1500 block of Victoria Rd on a report of a property damage accident. Officer contacted both involved parties. They requested a report. There was visual minor damage to one vehicle, the other one had pre existing damage and the driver did not know if there was new damage. Parties exchanged information. CIVIL ASSIST — 7XX MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD 02/27/20, 1519 HOURS Officers responded to the 700 block of Mendota Heights Road for a child custody issue. Child was picked up from school outside of regular custody time. Child was confirmed safe. Incident was documented and will be forwarded to Dakota County Social Services as well as the Dakota County Attorney for review in charging. TRAFFIC STOP/FALSE NAME — HWY 62/HWY 55 02/27/20, 1824 HOURS A party who was mailed a traffic court notice came in to state he was not the one driving. Upon review of the traffic stop video, it was determined that the driver provided a false name and date of birth. Correct name was found and suspect was charged.
