Night to Unite occurs annually on the first Tuesday in
August and promotes police-community partnership,
neighborhood camaraderie, and enhances the relationship
between neighbors and law enforcement. This year that
day falls on Tuesday August 7th!
For residents of Mendota Heights, this is an opportunity
to put together a neighborhood celebration, turn on the
front porch lights, gather with neighbors and friends, get
to know one another, catch up on things, play some games
with the kids, enjoy a few hot-off-the-grill favorites and
build a sense of community.
Neighborhood representatives are asked to register their
Night to Unite event, so members
from the Mendota Heights Police
and Fire Departments, as well
as City officials, can stop by

MISSING PERSON — 2X Somerset Rd 07/13/18, 1038 HOURS
Officer was dispatched to location on a missing elderly male. Wife stated that her husband was charging
the car battery when next thing she knew he was gone in the vehicle and has not driven in over a year and
suffers from dementia. A couple hours later, she received a phone call from a gas station in Minneapolis
saying her husband was there and looked confused so they were able to get her number from him to call.
She responded to location to get him.
THEFT — 1XXX Mayfield Heights Rd 07/13/18, 1446 HOURS
Officer took a report of mail theft. The mail of the reporting party was found on the ground near a
neighbors house. An envelope that contained a check was stolen. Check was canceled and accounts are
being monitored for fraudulent activity. No suspects.
THEFT — 9XX Sibley Memorial Hwy 07/13/18, 1557 HOURS
Reporting party wanted to report harassing phone calls. RP remedied the harassing phones. Information
report only.
TRAFFIC STOP — 1XXX Hwy 13 07/13/18, 1847 HOURS
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired plates. Upon investigation, the vehicle showed
current registration but state records showed expired. The driver was not the owner of the vehicle just
borrowed it. Officer spoke to owner who could not explain why they are showing as expired. Ultimately it
was found to be an error within the state vehicle registration system.
MINOR CONSUMPTION — 1XXX Hwy 13 07/13/18, 2350 HOURS
Officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked on private property. Driver told the officer they were
lost and looking for directions. Officer could smell marijuana and alcohol coming from the vehicle. One
passenger under 21 admitted to drinking and having a small amount of marijuana. Another passenger was
also found to have been drinking. Both passengers were cited for Minor Consumption, Possession of Small
Amount of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
DWI — 35/Wagon Wheel 07/14/18, 0335 HOURS
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for swerving. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer could see
signs of impairment. Officer conducted a roadside field sobriety test and determined the driver BAC was
over the legal limit. The driver was placed under arrest for DWI and booked into Dakota County Jail.
CURFEW VIOLATION — 1XXX Wagon Wheel Tr 07/14/18, 0341 HOURS
Officers were dispatched to location for a report of juveniles being loud and skateboarding. The juveniles
were issued citations for being out past curfew and were released into the care of adults.
WARRANT ARREST/5TH DEG DRUGS — 7XX Wentworth Ave 07/14/18, 0527 HOURS
Officer observed a vehicle in the park outside of posted hours. Three occupants identified, one had two
felony warrants. Occupants could not provide proof of ownership and the vehicle was towed. An
inventory search revealed a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine and a small baggie of the same.
Male transported to Ramsey County Jail for the warrants and formal charges are pending for the suspected
methamphetamine.

FOUND DOG—-1101 VICTORIA CUR 7/14/18, 1650 HOURS
Officer got a call regarding a found dog on Dodd road. The reporting party brought it to the Police Depart-
ment for safe keeping. No tags or identifiers. Four Paws dog boarding picked the dog up.
PROPERTY DAMAGE—2171 DODD RD 07/14/18, 1445 HOURS
Victim had vehicle legally parked in the 700 block of Mendakota Drive when a golf ball from an errant golf
shot struck the driver's rear window, causing the window to smash. No note or info was left by the golfer
for the vehicle owner. Inactive.
ACCIDENT—ANNAPOLIS/CHEROKEE 07/15/18, 1453 HOURS
Officer responded to an accident on Annapolis and Cherokee Heights. One vehicle failed to yield to the oth-
er as it had the right of way. Driver of first vehicle received a citation. No injuries. State Crash Report made.
CIVIL ASSIST—1110 CENTRE POINT CURV 07/16/18, 0850 HOURS
Responded to the 1100 block of Center Point Curve on a report of a disturbance. Officers assisted the per-
son in retrieving some personal property peacefully. No charges filed.
AOA—695 3RD AVE 07/16/18, 0850 HOURS
An Officer took a report of credit card fraud from a resident on the 600 block of 3rd avenue. The fraud had
occurred in other cities. The Officer was able to determine that the suspect was still on scene at the loca-
tion were they had made fraudulent charges. The Officer contacted Maplewood Police Department and the
party was taken into custody by their agency.
CHECK WELFARE—2370 KRESSIN AV 07/17/18, 0922 HOURS
Responded to the 2300 block of Kressin Ave concerning a check the welfare. A report was sent to the
MHPD from the Dept of Human Services concerning alleged theft from a vulnerable adult. After further in-
vestigation the case was closed/inactive.
FRAUD—1013 SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY 07/17/18, 2127 HOURS
An individual called to report some suspected fraud activity. He had been called by persons claiming to
work for the IRS. They told him he would be arrested if he didn't buy more than $7,500 worth of iTunes gift
cards and give them the codes. He complied then called us. I told him it was a scam. He will be attempting
to terminate the transactions. No suspect information; inactive.
MISSING PERSON—1305 KENDON LN 07/18/18, 0950 HOURS
Officer took a runaway report from a parent. Person last seen the previous night and did not come home.
Area and known locations checked. Person entered as a runaway.
ACCIDENT—SIBLEY MEMORIAL/LEXINGTON AV 07/18/18, 1630 HOURS
Officer responded to an accident on Highway 13 and Lexington Ave. Two vehicles involved. Minor damage
and one driver reported neck pain, refused medics. One driver given a citation for driving without a driv-
ers license. State Crash report created.

2ND DEG DWI—1405 SIBLEY MEMORIAL HWY 07/18/18, 2259 HOURS
Officer observed a vehicle driving in a lot of a closed business. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the lot
prior to Officer initiating a stop. Officer approached the driver and detected a strong odor of an alcohol-
ic beverage and the driver had slurred speech. The driver was arrested for DWI. The driver was transported
to the Dakota County Jail. Forward to MH City Attorney for formal charging.
FOUND PROPERTY—1101 VICTORIA CURV 07/19/18, 1230 HOURS
Resident of Mendota Heights turned in a phone she saw fall from the top of a passing vehicle. Phone fell off
the vehicle in the area of Upper Colonial and Wachtler Ave. Owner of phone was located. Closed.
THEFT—1408 NORTHLAND DR 07/19/18, 1450 HOURS
Employee of a business in the 1400 block of Northland Dr. reported a tailgate stolen from a 2018 Ford F150
while the vehicle was parked at the loading dock. Estimated value is over $1000. No suspects or witnesses.
FALSE INFO TO POLICE—650 MENDOTA HEIGHTS RD 7/19/18, 2230 HOURS
Officer stopped out with a suspicious person on the 600 block of Mendota Heights Road. The juvenile gave
a name and date of birth that the Officer was unable to confirm. The Officer allowed the juvenile to go
home. After an investigation, the Officer determined that juvenile gave a false name and date of birth. The
Officer responded to the juveniles address and meet with the juvenile and the parent. The juvenile was
issued a citation for false information to police.
