Get out the crayons and help us decorate our lobby! MHPD is hosting our annual
Winter Wonderland Coloring Contest for children ages 0 - 10 who live in or go to
school in our city! We are offering three different coloring pages, based on your
child’s age, which are:
To enter, print out the appropriate coloring page from the selections attached for
your child’s age. The forms are included in this newsletter and can also be found on
the Mendota Heights Police Department Facebook page and on the police page of our
city website. Show us your best coloring on the page, complete the entry form at the
bottom and return the page to MHPD no later than Friday, January 27th at 4:30 p.m.
Winners will be chosen and notified on Monday, January 30th. The winning artwork
will be posted in the 2/03/16 JTF as well as on the city website and MHPD Facebook
page. The winners will receive Juice & Donuts with an Officer for up to 7 guests! Plus,
every entry we receive will be displayed in our police lobby.

DISTURBING PEACE — 5XX Miriam St FRI, 12/09, 0129 HOURS
Officers responded to a call for a father and daughter arguing in their front yard. No violence or injuries were
present. Both parties agreed to stop arguing and go to sleep. Case Closed.
THEFT OF FUEL— 9XX Sibley Memorial Hwy FRI, 12/09, 0724 HOURS
Officer responded to business on a theft of fuel report. The suspect pumped gas and left without paying. The
store employee was able to obtain plate information that listed back to a dealership. No video surveillance
available. Case Inactive.
FRAUD — 8XX Park Place FRI, 12/09, 0926 HOURS
Officer took a credit card fraud report regarding multiple purchases made on the victims card while the victim
still had the card in her possession. The reporting party requesting case number for credit card company who
is now the victim. Case Inactive.
PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT— Lexington Ave FRI, 12/09, 1009 HOURS
An Officer responded to location for a property damage only crash. Vehicle one crossing traffic, failed to yield
for vehicle two, which had right of way. Very minor damage to left front bumpers of both vehicles; damage
does not meet state minimums for reporting. Drivers exchanged information and were provided a business
card and case number. Driver One cited for failure to yield right of way.
WARRANT ARREST/AOA— 2XXX Hwy 13 FRI, 12/09, 1749 HOURS
Officer requested to do a pick up and hold for Ramsey County on a Kops alert. Female arrested on Dakota
County warrant. Case closed.
THEFT— 9XX Mendota Hts Rd SAT, 12/10, 1647 HOURS
Officer spoke to complainant by phone who wished to report a theft from his son's vehicle parked at school
two days prior. Complainant also reported ongoing suspicious activity and persons have been around the
home since the theft. Case number provided to complainant and extra patrol requested for his residence.
Investigation inactive.

DOMESTIC — 2XXX Hwy 13 SUN. 12/11, 1356 HOURS
Officer responded to a local motel to check the welfare of an adult female. Investigation revealed there had
been an argument between husband and wife and the husband had left the scene. A relative came and picked
up the female. No assault, no crime, no injuries. Report made.
HARRASING COMMUNICATION— 2XXX Lockwood Dr SUN, 12/11, 1344 HOURS
Officer spoke to complainant by phone who wished to report harassing communications from an
acquaintance. The communication came in the form of a voicemail and the complainant wished to make a
report for documentation purposes only in case things escalate at a later time. Report made, Case inactivated
FRAUD— 2XXX Claremont Drive SUN, 12/11, 1620 HOURS
Officer requested to call a victim of credit card fraud. The victim reported unauthorized use of credit card. The
victim did not have much information. Follow up pending additional information.
THEFT— 1XXX Sylvandale Rd MON, 12/12, 1114 HOURS
Officer responded to a report of theft. Victim placed mail to be picked up in her mailbox. Victim discovered
the check she placed in her mailbox was used at a different business. Victim called the business to whom the
check was written; they had not received her payment. Victim discovered four other unauthorized transactions.
Victim has notified her bank. Possible suspect information associated with victim's account. Case pending.
FOUND PROPERTY — Wentworth Ave/Delaware Ave MON, 12/12, 1234 HOURS
Officer responded to the MHPD lobby concerning a found purse. The reporting party observed a purse fly off
a vehicle, she attempted to flag the driver down but was unable too. Purse and contents turned over. Owner
contacted via family.
IDENTITY THEFT— 7XX Decorah Lane MON, 12/12, 1433 HOURS
Officer responded to a call regarding identity theft. Victim discovered three fraudulent transactions on his
debit card. Victim reported the fraud to his bank. Victim was provided with a case number.
FRUAD — 2XXX Claremont Drive MON. 12/12, 1605 HOURS
Officer responded to MHPD lobby concerning a fraud report. Victim had fraud on her checking account.
Pending investigation.

THEFT OF FUEL— 9XX Hwy 13 TUES, 12/13, 1137 HOURS
Officer responded to an after the fact theft of fuel. Area was checked for the suspect vehicle described by the
employee but the vehicle was not located. Case is Inactive.
THEFT BY SWINDLE— 1XXX Ivy Hill Dr TUES, 12/13, 1342 HOURS
Officer responded to a call regarding a theft by swindle. The victim reported being contacted by phone earlier
in the day to send money for her grandson who was in jail. The victim believed the story, obtained the money
requested and sent it with a courier. The victim called police after the courier left to report the theft . The
courier was located in another jurisdiction. The courier was legitimate, money was taken as evidence and the
courier was released after a statement was provided. Arrangements for the victim to pick up the money was
made. The suspects used a mailing address from out of the country.
FRAUD— 1XXX Delaware Ave TUES, 12/13, 1759 HOURS
Officer responded to a call regarding an individual who received notifications from her credit card company
about recent charges. Having never made the charges, the victim contacted the police for financial transaction
card fraud. This matter is under investigation.

PD where Dakota County residents can safely and
anonymously dispose of their prescription drugs and
over-the-counter medication.
