AOA Department of Corrections Friday 1227 hours
Investigator Mario Reyes received information from the Department of
Corrections that a registered predatory offender was in violation of their
conditions of release. While arresting a registered offender who has
violated probation is not unusual, it is not typical when we are not the
initiating agency.
Harassment Friday 1506 hours
Officer John Larrive met with the victim of on‐going harassment at
MHPD. The victim’s friend has a protection order issued by the courts
on the caller/ex‐boyfriend. The victim had received a combination of
300+ calls &/or texts during the past few days from the caller who was
looking for the ex‐girlfriend. Officer Larrive attempted to locate the
suspect w/o success. He appears to be moving from place to place to
avoid contact with law enforcement. Forwarded to investigations for
formal charges.
Recreational Fire Friday 1707 hours
Mr. Anonymous called to report the neighbor burning garbage outside.
The caller described heavy smoke. Officer Fleming arrived but only
found a recreational fire burning, fire wood. The homeowner was
advised of the complaint and warned to attend to the fire due to dry
conditions. When he was reassured it would be watched carefully, he
cleared. Ooops! At 2003 hours, Officer Fleming again responded to the
same house on a report of heavy, dark smoke. This time he found the
garage on fire! The homeowner, trying to multi‐task, had left the
recreational fire unattended and the back of the garage was on fire.
MHFD responded and most of the garage was saved; no other damage
found. It could have been so much worse…!
Theft / Burglary Sunday 1206 hours
Officer Patrick responded to a report of items missing from cars,
unfortunately, the cars were parked in the garage. The cars were
ransacked; fortunately the caller was only missing cash. No suspects
and no evidence left at the scene; related to another theft from vehicle
in the neighborhood.

Theft Sunday 1322 hours
Resident reported an item had been stolen from his vehicle. The victim stated his vehicle is
typically locked, but could not remember if it had been overnight. The vehicle had been
rummaged through and a Garmin GPS was stolen. No leads, but related to burglary above.
Recreational Fire Sunday 1342 hours
Caller reported that a neighbor’s burning leaves was causing her some health problems. The
caller stated her mother, who was in town, was unable to handle the smoke. However, she
refused to let the ambulance respond. Sergeant Garlock checked the fire and found it to be a
legal recreational fire. No action taken.
