This was due in large part to the wet season we had from a large amount of snow to melt in the spring to the wettest spring/summer in recorded history. All that moisture in the ground was making it into the sanitary sewer, increasing our overall flow contribution. As a result of the flow increase, Met Council Environmental Services assessed a surcharge of nearly $100,000 per year for the next four years to the City of Mendota Heights. Because the City of Mendota Heights invests more than this into the maintenance of our sanitary sewer system, and because the City has a forecasted Sanitary Sewer Improvement and Maintenance Plan (SSIMP), the Met Council agreed that if Mendota Heights continues to invest in sewer rehabilitation and other I/I preventative measures, that the work would count as the surcharge fee. This week staff completed the submittal package to Met Council showing the work completed over the past year. 23, 2015 OCTOBER The latest from the Mendota Heights Police Department - FRAUD SATURDAY 0843 HOURS Officer Phil McCarty responded to the lobby to take a report of credit card fraud.
