Relay For Life
A group of City employees are hoping to get a team of walkers together to participate in the
American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Mendota Heights. The City team would like to walk
in memory of Larry Shaughnessy. (If anyone else has a loved one they'd like the team to walk in
memory of also, please contact Janet at City Hall.)
The Relay for Life involves 8 - 15 people per team who take turns walking or running around a
track all night long (12 hours). A party-like atmosphere prevails as team members camp out on
the surrounding grounds for the duration of the event to enjoy music, food, fun, entertainment
and activities. Money is raised through team commitment fees and individual goals secured
from family, friends, companies, or corporations.

Congratulations
Congratulations to our Fire Chief John Maczko. John was recently promoted to the City
Engineer position for the City of St. Paul (see attached article “City Engineer is Heading for
Easy Street”.)
Ziggy’s Rocks
Ziggy’s Restaurant and Bakery is having an outdoor barbeque and free concert on Sunday

evening (June 1) from 4 – 9 p.m. Please see the “Ziggy’s Rocks” attachment for more details.
Parks Celebration Next Weekend
The annual Parks Celebration (and Bike Rodeo) is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m.
to 1 p.m. If you are interested in donating to, participating in, or volunteering for this fun event,
please contact Teresa Gangelhoff at the Parks & Recreation Department at 452-1850. Celebrate
