January 9, 2014 Jackson Evans Justin Miller City Administrator 1101 Victoria Curve Mendota Heights, MN 55118 Dear Mr. Miller: I write to apply for the opening on the Parks and Recreation Commission. I am interested in the position because I would like to give back to my community and become — involved in local- government My family moved -to Mendota - Heights _approximately a year and a half ago and we are thrilled to live here. My wife and I are glad that we chose this community as the place to raise 'a family. I believe that I am well qualified for the position. I have worked in state government for the last six years. This experience in government has shown me how complex the most seemingly routine aspects of governance can be. This is particularly true when there are multiple agencies or units of government that have jurisdiction over the same issue. Additionally, my experience as an attorney will also be beneficial as I am skilled in reading and understanding complex statues and administrative rules. I hope that you consider me for the opening on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
