1978-06-14 Board of ReviewPage No. 910 June 14, 1978 CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA Minutes of the Annual Board of Review Held Wednesday, June 14, 1978 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council, City of Mendota Heights, held its annual Board of Review meeting at the City Hall, 750 South Plaza Drive, Mendota Heights, Minnesota. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lockwood at 7:45 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Councilman Mertensotto. Councilmen Losieben and Schaberg had notified the Council that they would be absent. Councilman Wahl had notified the Council that he would be late. The Dakota County Assessor's office was represented by Assessors Olson and O'Toole and assistant assessors. The County Assessor's records were opened for general review for the residents of the City. Mayor Lockwood, as Chairman of the Board of Review, turned the meeting over to Assessor O'toole to answer any complaints or questions. Mr. O'Toole explained the procedure for figuring taxes and the terms "limited" and Market values. Several residents were present for the discussions and asked questions of the assessors on an individual and private basis. The Board acknowledged receipt of a written request for review of the valuation of the Leonard Levitan residence at 699 Sylvandale Court. ABATEMENTS Councilman Wahl arrived at 8:30 P.M. Assessor O'Toole requested approval of two abatements, and explained the abatements to the Board. Councilman Wahl moved approval of an abatement for the City of Mendota Heights for Parcel No. 27- 44955 -010, reducing the assessed value from 2967 to nil for taxes payable in 1978, and reducing the assessed value for Parcel No. 27- 44950- 010 -00 from 1247 to nil for taxes payable in 1978, and for Thomas P. and Ellen Stillman, for Parcel No. 27- 32800- 090 -01, reducing the assessed value from 33150 to 30606 for taxes payable in 1978. Councilman Mertensotto seconded the motion. Ayes: 3 Nays: 0 ADJOURN There being no further business to come before the Board, Mayor Lockwood moved that the meeting be adjourned.
