Minutes of the Adjourned Meeting
Held Thursday, September 27, 1979
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the adjourned meeting of the City
Council, City of Mendota Heights, was held at 6:30 o'clock P.M., at the City
Hall, 750 South Plaza Drive, Mendota Heights, Minnesota.
Mayor Lockwood called the meeting to order at 6:40 o'clock P.M. The following
members were present: Mayor Lockwood, Councilmen Losleben, Hartmann and
Mertensotto, Councilwoman Witt.

Public Works Director Danielson reviewed the tabulation
of bids received for repairs to the west end of the Marie
Avenue bridge approach. He advised the Council that the
low bidder has advised that he would also complete the
repairs on the east end for $4,000 to $5,000 in conjunction
with the original contract.

After discussion, Councilman Losleben moved the adoption
of Resolution No. 79-101, "RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR MARIE AVENUE BRIDGE APPROACH REPAIRS",
and preparation of a change order to include repairs to
the east end of the bridge.
Mayor Lockwood seconded the motion.
Councilman Losleben moved to withhold payment of engineering
fees on the re-design until after complete Council discussion
of professional fees.
Councilman Hartmann seconded the motion.
City Planner Dahlgren distributed and reviewed memos on
the proposed layout for 1-494 from west Dakota County
to Pieper Road and the 1-494 temporary opening to T.H.55.
Planner Dahlgren recommended extending Mendota Heights Road
as a M.S.A. Road and straightening out the intersection of
Mendota Heights Road and T.H.49. There was some discussion
on the routing through Sunfish Lake and discussion on the
hazards of an early opening of 1-494 to T.H.55.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Mayor Lockwood moved that the meeting be closed.
Councilwoman Witt seconded the motion.
