1982-06-09 Council minutesPage No. 1664 June 9, 1982 CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA Minutes of the Annual Board of Review Hed Wednesday, June 9, 1982 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights met as the Board of Review at 7:30 o'clock P.M., at the City Hall, 750 South Plaza Drive, Mendota Heights, Minnesota.' Mayor Lockwood called the meeting to order at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Lockwood, Councilmen Hartmann and Mertensotto. Council man Losleben had advised the Council that he would be late. Councilwomen Witt had notified the Council that she would be unable to attend. Mayor Lockwood turned the meeting over to Assistant County Assessor Bill Peterson. Mr. Peterson advised that he and several other assistant assossors were present to review 1982 estimated market values. He advised that all residential properties and condominiums in the City were given an across the board 100% increase in valuation over 1981, that townhouses were revalued and there is a 10% increase in market value of commercial structures. He then asked for general questions from the audi- ence, advising that the County representatives would discuss specific questions relating to individual valuation with the property owners later in the evening. Councilman Losleben arrived at 7:45 P.M. Mr. Peterson explained the factors used in evaluting properties and advised that the estimated market value is approximately 85%-87% of the market value of properties. He answered several questions from the audience. In response to a question from an owner Of. an Eagle Ridge condominium, he advised that the Assessor's staff would be willing to meet with the condominium owners and review the valuation procedure to determine whether an adjustment in the valuation philosophy for the structures is necessary. Mr. Peterson and the representatives from the assessor's office met individually with all of the members of the audience. ADJOURN There being no further business to come before the Board of Review, Councilman Losleben moved that the meeting be adjourned. Councilman Mertensotto seconded the motion.
