1957-09-16 Minutes of Mendota Heights Village CouncilREGULAR MEETING The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Village,Counoil was held at the Village Hall on Monday, September 16, 1957 at 8 :00 p.m... The roll being called, all members were present. The minutes of the previous meeting, held September 9, were aooepted as presented. On motion of Trustee Kramer, seconded by Trustee Sweney, it was resolved that the Village of Mendota Heights proceed with the blaoktopping of Hiawatha rS;enue, on, an assessment basis, at.a cost not to exceed 42.00 per front foot. On motion of Trustee Horning, seconded by Clerk Stary, it was resolved that Mr, Donald Zahn be issued a building permit to eillot a garage 28' froQrt1enfront yard lot line, Mr. Zahn presented letters from the adjoining property his lot agreeing to this set back, Ayes:-5; Nays; -0. A request from Ernest Rolf, 600 Valley Lane, to erect a garage four feet from the side yard lot line was referred tto© for A petition from residents in h Y objecting to the installation of asphalt boulevards on Cheyenne Lane, was received by the Council. On motion ofaayor Edman, seconded by Clerk Stary, it was resolved that the following resolution be adopted; WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Village of Mendota Heights' officials and the Planning hindered progress laa iof the theproper relocation orderly Highwaydevelopment through the so-called a11ed is being hinderod by the delay Friendly Hills area, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the iStateiHigh9ay Department., be. petitioned to include the .00mpletion of this project Nays s a-0. Trustee Horning reported on the progress of the Village sewage and drainage problem, He stated that maps have been, obtained from the State, and that he is aisle in the process of .gathering more t mnlofitransoribingdthisomater�ialronlaimap will s obtained, an engineering estimate as to be procured. A letter from the Village Attorney, in regard to the Village assuming a law suit of residents in Friedly gainst wouldtnothbeCfeasibleyfroryol Edman,The Village Attorney the Village to assume such a lava suit at.this time. On motion of Trustee Kraemer, eeoonded by Clerk Stary, it was resolved that the following roads in the Tilsen Highland Heights Addition be accepted as Village Roads -r.- 1,Douglas Road, from Lilac ig 2, James Road, from Douglas Road to Karon Court, 3,James Court, 4.
