1956-10-29 Minutes of Mendota Heights Village CouncilSpecial Meeting A special meeting of the Mendota Heights Village Council was held at the Hall October 29,1956. The roll being called, the following members were present; Trustees awebey, Horning, Krammer and Clerk Stary. Trustee Horning presided over the meeting until Mayor Edman arrived at 9:00 p.m.. On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Trustee SWeney, resolved that, the reading (7,--11)f the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Ayes;-4; On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that Rowland campion be issued a building permit to erect a stable on his Property. Ayes:-4;Nayst..0. On motion of Trusyee Swaney, seconded by Trustee Krammer, resolved that the minimum frontage of 9416°, and setback of Mr w MoBridelt property on Wachtler Avenue' be waived provided that he obtain signatures from the two property owners northof his property. Ayes-4; Nayst-0. It was unanamously resolved by the Council that the front setback on the lot at 1099 Chippewa Avenue be waived and that a permit be issued to Mr. fso to construct a garage on said lot. In view of the recommendation of Dakota County Engineer,H.E. Palmer, On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Clerk Stary, resolved that the the Following Roads in the Tilsen Highland Heights, Plot la, be accepted as Village Roads; Douglas Road from South Victoria to Lilac Lane, Vioi Lane, Lilac Lane, and Carron Road from South Victori' to Lilac Lane, Ayes:-2; Nays:-3. Motion denied. On motion of Mayor Edman, seconded by Trustee Horning, reeltedd that the Village plow the roads in Tilsen's Highland Heights this winter, and that the Counoil reexamine the roads for condition next spring. Ayes:-5; Nays:-0. On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Trustee Horning, resolved that the following roads in the Friendly Hills Addition be accepted as Village Roads; Creek 'venue, Aztec Lane, Fox Place, and HokahAvenue Ayes:-5; Nays:-O. On motion of Trustee 'Crammer, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that the gasoline specs. ap,,are now before the Council be accepted and that the Village advertise for bids. fbrneCessary equipment. On motion af Trustee Horning, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that Trustee Horning answer Mr. Kischel's questions in regard torthe suspension of perculatiqn. tests during the winter months in his letter of October 23, 1956, and that the Clerk and Building inspector be restricted to issue permits on that basis only. Ayes:-5: Nays :-01 Clerk Stary was instructed to notify Mr. Simonson of the denial of his application for a permit to construct a garage 2fett from his property line On motion of Trustee Sweney, seconded by Trustee Krammer,reSoIVed that Ordinance 440, an Ordinance regulating the use of highways within the Village of Mendota eights incorporating provisions of the tate Highway Traffio Regulations Aot by reference, and imposing penaltiesfor the violation thereof, be adopted. Ayes:-5; Nay-0. The matter of having a pecond poll4g place in the Vilikage in 1957 was referred to Trustee Sweney. Friendly Hills agreed to pay for the use of the Village pumper. The fee set by the Village was $150.00. On motion of Trustee Horning, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that the budget as amended be accepted. Ayes'-5; Nays:-0. On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Mayor Edman, resolved that the Road Commissioner be authorized to purchase a sanding attachment for the Village dump truck at a cost not to exceed $495.00.
