The roll being called the following members were present: TrUStee8 Sweney, gissimmer
and Clerk Stary, Absent: Trustee Horning, Mayor Ednan presided over the meetingi
On motion of Trustee Sweneys seconded by Trustee Krammer, resolved that tha reading
of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with Aye -4 Nays:-0.
as motion of Trustee !Crammer, seconded by Trustee Swaney, resolved that in the
matter of the tastallation of 2f fire hydraitts ca the.East side of Delaware Avenue ,
fl between Dodd Road and Emere son Ave Avenue0 that t proposed improvement be completed
and that the cost of 6810.00 for t4o PrOposed improvement be asseased against
benefitted property owners located test of end within 600 feet of Delaware Avenue
between Dodd Road and Emerson Avenude,Ayets-4; Fay00 ,
On motion of Trustee Kramer, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that the
following resolution be adopted; RESOLVED, that the attorney for the Village be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to commence action in the name and on behalf of the
Village, for the recovery of damages from the party or parteis responsible therefor,
for the damage to River Road resulting from eollision of barges and towboats therewith
and to sign a complaint in the name of the Village. Ayes:-4; Nays1-0.
011 motion,of Trustee Xrammer, seconded by Clerk Stary, resolved that the following
ridolutien be adopted; RESOLVED, that it hereby determined that it is nocemensyttor the
Village of Mendota Heights to acquire the following Osoribed traets of real estate
situated within the Village of Mendota Heights and CoUnty of DOlaits; to-wit:
1):912.11.2 The South thirYy fesst(30)) of the GEA malatil four hundred thirtrefive and
iii-tenths feet (435.89) of section Twenty-three (23), TownshippTtenty-eight (28),
Mange Twenty-three (23);

Avenue, RESOLVED FURTHER, that the petition for oomdemnation of the above described
tracts be executed by the Nayor and Clerk by for and on behalf of the Villages

On motion of Trustee Kramer, seconded by Trustee Swaney, resolved that the Tripp
Construction Company be authorized to complete the Marie Avenue project on a per unit
basis as specified in the original bid. Ayest-4; Nayst.-Os
Road Commissioner Emil KraMMer reported that the blacktop patching in the Somerset
Hills Addition was completed by the County.
On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Clerk Stary, resolved that the Village
fulfill the obligation incurred by the Town Board in September of 1955 whereby they
agreed to blacktop 2001 of road 189 wide from the service road Ust to the Emil Lauer
Property. The cost will be $250.00. Ayest.4; Nays:-0.
On motion of Mayor Edman, seconded by Clerk Stary, reoslved that Jacob Weinzettel
be issued a permit to erect a second garage on his property after the deed for same
has been examined. Ayes:-4; Eays:-0.
( A request from Glenn Simonson to erect a garage two feet from his property line,
i A request from R. Campion to erect a stable on his property, and a letter from D. -jri
in regard toe 40 ' road were referred to the Planning Commission for recomendatioe_
The letter in regard to tax forfeited property was referred to the Village httorne,
On motion of Mayor Edman, seconded by Trustee 'weney, resolved that the nrclimingr
plat of Culligans replat dated September 1956 be aocepted. Ayes:-4; Yays:-0.

Clerk Stary was instructed to. notify Mendota Clerk *William Leibel that the dump
next to the :Minnesota River is in Mendota Village according to the kendnta Heights
Village map.
On motion of Trustee Kramer, seCohded by Trustee Swaney, resolved that a gas line
be brought into the Village Hall and connected to the garage heater es:-4 Way:-0.
The proposed 1957 budget was presented to the Council by l''ayor
Village Attorney, Wood Foster, was instructed to prepare a preliminary draft of an
Ordinace to establish a board of health.
It was unanamously resolved by the Council that D.Do Lesher be paid the sum of $100.0
as a result of a collision with the Mendota Heights fire truck after a submission of
a bill .
On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Clerk Stary, resolved that the meeting
be adjourned until Pctober 29, 1956.Ayes:*41 hays:-00
