1956-09-18 Minutes of Mendota Heights Village CouncilRegula r Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the Mendota Heights Village Council was held
at the Village Hall September 18, 1956 at 8:00 p.m..
Rhe roll being called the fallowing members were present: Trustees Sweney,
Horning,Krammer, and Clerk Stary, Mayor Edman presided over the meeting.
On motion of Trustee Horning,, seconded by Trustee Krammer, resolved that the
reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with Ayes: -,5; Nays: -0,
The Hiawatha Avenue proposed improvement hearing was suspended indefinitely
because of misinformation on the psi 2f a majority of the signers.
On motion of Trustee Kram &OPT II Clerk Stary, resolved that the Marie Avenue
improvement contract be awarded to the Tripp Construction Company on a per unit basis,
Ayes: -5; Nays:`0.
On motion eft-Mayor Edman, seconded by Trustee Horning resolved that the grade
plans for Delaware Avenue remain as they are and that Trustee Krammer attend the
Vest St, Paul Council meeting in regard to the width of the Delaware Avenue grade.
Ayes : -5; Nays: -0s
Om motion of Trustee Sweney, seconded by Clerk Stary resolved that Cheryl Lane
in the Somerset Hills #2 Addition be vacated„ Ayes: -51 Nayss -00
It was unanamously resolved that Francis J..Stelter be issued a building permit
to erect a garage 3 feet from the property line upon the recommendation of the
Planning Commission.
On motion of Trustee Horning., seconded by Mayor Edman resolved that the Planning
Commission and the,Village Council be authorized to attend the Govenors confernce
an community planning at the Curtis Hotel on aeptember 21, 1956. Ayes: -4; Ntays: -O.
On motion of Trustee Sweney.,- seconded by Trustee Horning resolved that the
final plot plan of the Crest Line View Addition be denied. Ayes s -4; i`bays :--0.
A petition to rezone certain property in the Friendly Hills Addition was accepter'e,
by the Council and referred Planning Commission study recommendation.
The Friendl y Hilradconstructionplandated August15, 1D56 was approved
by the Council.
The proposed plan for the establishment of a little league park near St. Peters
church was referred to the Planning for study and recommendation.
On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded b y Clerk Stary resolved that effeotie
October 1, 1956 the salary of the road Overseer be increased $N50.00 per month.
Ayes-5; Nays :m0.
Village Attorney, Wood Foster, was authorized to undertake the preperation of
a reoiprncal fire contract with West St.. Paul to be presented at the September 24th
meeting.
On motion of MViayor Edman, seconded by Clerk Stary resolved that the meeting
be adjourned until September 24, 1956, Ayes:.. -4; Nays: -0.
