1956-09-05 Minutes of Mendota Heights Village CouncilSpecial Moeting
A special meeting of the Mendota Heights Village Council was held at the Village
Hall September 5, 1956, at 8:00 p.m..
The roll being called the following members were present: Trustees Sweney, Kramer,
and Clerk Stary, Absent: Trua.tee Horning. Mayor Edman presided over the meeting.
On motion of Trustee Swaney, seconded by Trustee Krammer, resolved that the
reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Ayes: -4; Nays: -0.
On recommendation of County Engineer, H.E. : Palmer, it was decided not to seal
coat the roads in the Somerset Hills Addition However, minor edge sealing will be
accomplished.
It was unanamously resolved by the council that the final plat of the Crestline
View Addition be referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendation.
On motion of Trustee Kramer, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that the
amendment to the Zoning Ordinance #5, amending anordinanoe to regulate the zoning
of property, as is now before the eouncil, be adopted. Ayea: -4; Trays : 1-0.
On motion of Mayor Edman, seconded by Clerk Stary, resolved that the following
resolution be adopted: Resolved that a public hearing be held at the McAdota Heights
Village Hall on Septemberl7, 1966 at 8 :00 p.m., on a proposed improvement consisiting
of the opening and improvement of Marie Avenue from Victoria Road to Lexington Road,
based upon the report of H.t:Palmer, County Engineer, that the proposed improvement
is feasible, that it best be made as a single,project as proposed, and that the
estimated cost is 07,000.001 Resolved furthers that no part of the proposed project
be assessed against the benefitted property. Ayes: -4; Tayes :0,
It was unanamously resolved by the council that a request by Mrs. Joseph Welsch
to construct a house on a lot on the Corner of Annapolis avenue and Chippewa Avenue
be denied on recommendation, of the Planning Commission.
It was unanamously resolved by the Counciil that the proposed rearrangement of
lots in,the Cardenville rearrangement be denied on recommendation of the Planning
Commission.
On motion of Trustee Sweney, seconded by Olerk Step', resolved that the following
resolution be adopted: Resalvedp that a public hearing be held at the Village Hall
on September 24, 1956 at 8:00 p.m., on a proposed im rovement cansisiting of the
installation of additional fire hydrants on the A641Fside of Delaware Avenue based
upon the recommendation of Frank Fischer, Village Fire Chtef, that the proposed
improvement is feasible , that it best be s a single project as proposed, and
that the estimated cost is approximately o Resolved further, that the Cost
of the proposed projeot be assessed against all property lying on the *viest side
of Delaware Avenue within 600 feet thereof, and between Dodd lad san l F aers annAvenue.
It was unanamously resolved by the council that'Howard Olsorroe gr.n on a permit
to erect a garage four feet from his property line,
On motion of Mayor Edman$ seconded by Truatoe Swaney, resolved that the meeting
be adjourned. Ayes:-4; mays :0b
