On motion of Trustee Horning seconded by Trustee Krammer resolved that the plans and data be referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendation. Ayes: -5; Nays : -0. A petition from Mrs. Furlong ",requesting that ilia Raymond Avenue in the Furlong Addition, be changed to Kendon'Drive, was presented to the Council, 0n motion of Trustee Horning, Seocnded by trustee Sweney, resolved that the petition be referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendation. On motion of Trustee Krammer,seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that'the plans from the Minnesota Highway department in regard to the relocation of highway 49, be referred to the Planning Commission for studg and recommendation. Ayes : -5; Nays -0. A petition to Curb Delaware Avenue From highway 49 to Emerson Avenue was presented to the Council. On motion of Trustee Horning, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that the Village Council set a date with the West St Paul city Council for a kamxi:xg joint • hearing on this petition. On motion of Mayor ''dman, seoonded by Clerk Stary, resolved that'Emil Krammer check on the matter of'resodding the bank on Carl Hansen's property located at 1062 WagonWheel Trail Road, as to cost and report back to the Council. Ayes :- 5;Nays : -0. It was recommended by Mayor Edman that Trustees Sweney, Krammer, and Village attorney Foster check on the cost of a temporary repair of the River Road. On motion of Trustee Krammer, seconded by Trustee V,g, resolved that the letter. School District #2 Superintendant Paul Steffanson in regard to access to the school on highway 100 from Marie Avenue, be referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendation. The official report from the Attorney eneral's °ffice regarding the legality of the granting of an exclusive water franchise by the Town Board , was received by the Council. The report stated that'the Town Board of Mendota Township did not have the legal arthority to issue the Franchise. Kramme appointed-to check into the letter in regard to the Gun Club. a r r letterfromLionel Greenburg, a potential home owner ,in regard to the sewage pxm problem in Friendly Hills was referred to the Planning Commission. On motion of Trustee Sweney ,seconded by Trustee Horning, resolved that an Ordinance Establishing a Volunteer Noire Department and Making Rules and Regulations For the Government of Same be adopted. RESOLUTION SETTING COMPENSATION FOR. VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT RESOLVED, By the Village COuncil of the Village of Mendota Heights, that the compensation of the members of the Volunteer Fire Department of this Village be as follows: (a) For the attendance at fires, $2.00 for the first hour.and $2.00 for each additional hour served under the direction of the Fire Chief of this Village, with the exception of grass fires, which shall be compensated at $1.50 per hour. (b) For attendance at meetings and practices, the sum of 42.00 per meeting or practice. Although no limit is set as to the number of meetings or practicesvhich shall be held, there shall be no more than one oompensable meeting and one compensatle practice per month. (c) For the Fire Chief, who is also directly charged with the upkeep and maintenance of fire trucks and related equipment, 830.00 per month, in addition to the hourly compensation specified above. ' (d) For the assisstant Chief,$5.00 per month,in addition to the hourly compensation specified above. (e) For the fire Marshal, #5.00 per month, in addition to the hourly compensation specified above. Ayes : -5; Nays: -0. The Ordinance in regard to Northern States power Company Going into Friendly Hills was referred to the Village Attorney for final preperation. The rppctt from F.L. Woodward on municipal water water supply specifications on pumps, wells, and tank was referred tothe - Planning Commission for study and recommendation. On motion of Trustee Horning, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that-the Water e Ordinance as is now before the Council be adopted. Ayes : -5; Nays : -0. Franchise motion of Trustee Horning, seconded by Trustee Sweney, resolved that the Council employ Bettenburg, Townsend and Stolte as engineers for private sewage and water systems.
