Res 2007- 78 Denying Sign Permit for Mendota Plaza1 , .I 1X -11 11130 2-01 RESOLUTION 07 -78 1 k 1 id 1 18 0 1 D101 U F.119 WHEREAS, Jim Fuller of SignARama has submitted a sign permit application, which requests approval for certain exterior changes in signage at Mendota Plaza as shown in materials submitted to the Council for their consideration on August 7, 2007; and WHEREAS, signage at Mendota Plaza is subject to Sign Criteria which was approved by the City through the approval of a Planned Unit Development ( "PUD "); and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the proposed signage does not comply with existing City regulations and PUD sign criteria. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the sign application for the Mendota Plaza signage would have an adverse impact on the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would be in violation of the general intent and purpose of the Zoning Ordinance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the sign application proposes signage that is not in compliance with the existing PUD. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the sign application is hereby denied. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in support of the above denial, the Council hereby adopts the following Findings of Fact: The PUD sign criteria allows store identity signs only. The proposed box signs are not restricted to Tenant's proper name, product or service. 2. The PUD sign criteria limits signage to individually illuminated neon letters, the face of which shall be cut out of transparent or opaque plastic.
