1986-05-21 Board of ReviewPage No. May 21, 1986 CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA Minutes of the Annual Board of Review Held Wednesday, May 21, 1986 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights met as the Board of Review at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the City Hall, 750 South Plaza Drive, Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Mayor Lockwood called the, meeting to order at 7:43 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Lockwood, Councilmembers Blesener, Cummins, Hartmann and Witt. Mayor Lockwood turned the meeting over to Assistant County Assessor Bill Peterson. Assessor Peterson informed the audience that he and several other assistant assessors were present to review the estimated 1986 market values. Mr. Peterson advised the audience that a complete revaluation was performed in Mendota Heights last su muter. He asked for general questions and took specific questions in order of roster sig- natures. He also noted that for 1986, the median level of assessment in Mendota Heights is 87%. He noted that by law, the State won't accept less than 85% market value. A majority of the residents were from the Eagle Ridge complex who expressed concern over the 10% increase they received in 1986, and the 10% increase for 1985. After many questions and concerns, County Assessor Peterson suggested that several residents of Eagle Ridge meet with the assessors to try to resolve their concerns. He also advised the audience that if anyone is still dissatisfied, they can appeal to the County Board of Equalization at their meeting on July 8th. The City Council, acting as the Board of Review, received a statement from Mr. Robert Glischinski, 1812 South Victoria Road, objecting to the high market value of his home. , Councilmember Cummins was excused at 8:30 P.M. Mr. Peterson and the assistant assessors then met with individual property owners wishing to discuss valuations. CITY VISION STATEMENT ADJOURN Ayes: 4 Nays: 0 ATTEST: The City Council reviewed and discussed a draft copy of the City's Vision Statement. After review and minor adjustments, it was forwarded to the City Administrator for distribution to the Planning Commission members.
