Minutes of the City Administrator's
Annual Evaluation
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 o'clock P.M. by Mayor
Robert Lockwood. The following members were present: Mayor
Lockwood, Councilmembers Witt, Blesener. Councilmember Cummins
arrived at 7:15 P.M. Councilmember Hartmann was absent.
The Mayor and City Council discussed their evaluation of the
City Administrator's performance, based on a nine-point
questionnaire that the Administrator had previously forwarded to
the Council. The Council expressed its overall satisfaction with
the way the City was being managed, and with the performance of
the Administrator.
Specific suggestions and requests for changes included:
1. Reactivating the monthly engineering department report.
2. Looking at the City's personal leave policy, which
Councilmember Witt indicated some employees had expressed
concern about.
3. Sending to the Council a quarterly financial report.
4. More expanded discussion in, staff reports on alternative
ways to address City issues.
5. Forwarding to the Council the City Planner's report for
Planning Commission items at the same time they are sent
to the Planning Commission.
6. Looking at the City's return on its idle cash
investments.
7. Improving the public speaking and presentation ability of
City employees.
Mayor Lockwood concluded the meeting by saying that he
thought all would agree that the evaluation could be considered a
vote of confidence in the City Administrator.
