RESOLUTION 06- 104
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A 42 SQUARE FOOT VARIANCE FROM THE
MAXIMUM SIZE FOR ACCESSORY SHEDS FOR 1245 DODD ROAD
WHEREAS, Tom and Nancy Harkness have applied for a 42 square foot Variance from
the Maximum Size for Accessory Sheds at 1245 Dodd Road [PIN: 27- 54200- 010 -01, Legal
Description: Lot 1, Block 1, Olricksen Addition] as proposed in Planning Case #06 -29; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application at their
regular meeting on September 26, 2006; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted to recommend that the Council approve
the 42 square foot Variance from the Maximum Size for Accessory Sheds at 1245 Dodd Road as
presented to the Planning Commission on the evening of September 26, 2006 and as shown in
Planning Case #06 -29;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Mendota Heights that a 42 square foot Variance from the Maximum Size for Accessory
Sheds at 1245 Dodd Road as proposed in Planning Case #06 -29 is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in support of the above approval, the Council
hereby makes the following Findings of Fact:
that no reasonable alternative exists for expanding the garage.
2. Alternative locations for expanding the garage would not result in additional
parking space, although potential storage area could be constructed.
3. Granting the variance will provide reasonable additional storage area without
disruption to the surrounding neighborhood due to existing landscaping on the
property.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights This 17a' day of October,
2006.
