RESOLUTION NO. 08- 28
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
SERIVCES AGREEMENT BETWEEN DAKOTA COUNTY AND THE CITY OF
MENDOTA HEIGHTS FOR (CRIMINAL JUSTICE INTEGRATION
INFORMATON NETWORK)
WHEREAS, by supporting grant applications the City of Mendota Heights
became involved in the Criminal Justice Integration Information Network (CJIIN);
and
WHEREAS, the CJIIN project is a cooperative project to securely and quickly
share information within the Dakota County Law Enforcement community; and
WHEREAS, the CJIIN project is a partnership of all of the Law Enforcement
Agencies in Dakota including the County Attorney's Office and the District Court;
and
WHEREAS, The City of Mendota Heights has promoted partnerships between
units of government to facilitate cost savings and improved service delievery; and
WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights Police Department has been an active member
of the planning process since 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights Police Department supported the 2004 grant
application and began financially supporting the CJIIN project in 2005; and
WHEREAS, this project provides a level of expertise not attainable without great
expense on a individual basis; and
Whereas, the City has representation on the Steering Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the City of Mendota Heights
hereby approves the Services Agreement between the City of Mendota Heights
and Dakota County and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the
Services Agreement for City involvement in the Dakota County CJIIN project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the initial terms of the agreement shall be
from the effective on the date it is executed by both parties and will continue for
one year ("Initial Term") and will automatically be extended for additional one (1)
year terms unless terminated 30 days before annual renewal date.
