AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 45 ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE REGULATING DOGS, PROVIDING FOR THE
LICENSING AND IMPOUNDING OF DOGS AND PRESCRIBING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF."
The Village Council of the Village of Mendota Heights
ordains as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 45, entitled "An Ordinance
Regulating Dogs, Providing for the Licensing and Impounding of
Dogs and Prescribing Penalties for Violations Thereof" is here-
by amended in the following respects:
(A) Section 11 thereof is hereby amended so as to
read as follows:
Section 11. Redemption of Impounded Animals.
Any dog impounded hereunder not being held for sus-
pected disease may be reclaimed by the owner within
seventy -two (72) hours exclusive of Saturday, Sunday
and Holidays upon payment by the owner to the Village
of an impounding fee in the amount of Eight Dollars
($8.00), plus an additional sum equal to the cost to
the Village of keeping such dog in the Village ani-
mal shelter. If the dog so reclaimed requires a
license under the provisions of this ordinance, such
license shall be obtained before such dog is released.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its publication according
to law.
Enacted and ordained into an ordinance this 21st day of
July, 1964.
