VILLAGE OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS

AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ISSUANCE OF
PLUMBING PERMITS, PAYING OF FEES,
A-XD MATTIRS RELATED THERETO.
The Village Council of Mendota Heights ordains as follows:
Section 1, Permits Required. Before -proceeding with any plumbing
construction, enlargement, alteration, or repair (in excess of a
cost of $50.00), the owner of the property where such plumbing
is proposed or his agent shall first obtain a permit for such
purpose from the Village Clerk. A separate permit shall be re-
quired for heating, air conditioning, and ventilation work.
Section 2. Permit fees. The applicew-t shall pay to the Village
Clerk a permit fee in the amount of $4.00 for work done on a
residential frame structure of from one thru four dwelling units.
All other permit fees shall be as established by the Village
Council by resolution from time to time. The Village Council
shall also determine by resolution from time to time a uniform
fee for renotification where work is found defective and requires
correction and reinspection.
Section 3. Water Plumbing. Any person doing any work on water
lines or fixtures must be licensed as a plumber by both the
Village of Mendota Heights and the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Section 4. Enforcement. It shall be the duty of the plumbing
inspector designated by the Village Council to enforce the pro-
visions of this ordinance.
Section 5. Penalty. Any person fadling to obtain a permit,
covering work without it being duly inspected, or refusing to
correct work when so ordered by the Village or its agent shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be punished by a fine of not to exceed $100.00 or by imprison-
ment for not to exceed ninety (90) days.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in force
and effect from and after its publication according to law.
Enacted and ordained into an ordinance this day of
November, 1 962.
