Holiday Party
Invitations went out this week for a holiday
party at Mendakota Country Club on Friday,
January 6, 2012. The format will be a little
different than past years, as we enjoy dinner
together. As an employee recognition event,
employee and commissioner meals will be
paid for by the city. Meals for spouses and
guests must be paid for separately.
Remember to get your RSVP turned in soon.
There will also be a ceremony at the city
council meeting Tuesday, January 3, 2012
recognizing employees for reaching
milestones in their years of service.
Records Management System
The city council passed a motion at their
meeting Tuesday evening authorizing staff to
move ahead with a digital records
management system. This new system does
not change our records management policies,
but does impact how staff and residents are
able to access public documents.
Crabtree Company, based in Eagan, is a local
representative for Laserfiche technology which
will be used to digitize all documents. The
technology also provides a safe portal to
access public documents and enhances the
security of non-public documents.
This technology will touch every municipal
function, allowing staff to more readily find
important documents created in 1956 right up
to the last customer through the door.
