2012 Budget Work Session
The City Council held their 2012 budget work
session this week along with a number of city
staff members. The council reviewed each of
the proposed departmental budgets for next
year and listened to staff reasoning for
proposed changes for next year. The budget
session went very well and some very
worthwhile discussions were had between the
city council and city staff. There are only a
few unresolved issues for the 2012 that
remain on the table and those issues will be
brought back between now and the end of
November for additional discussions and
decisions. Thank you to the City Council and
all of the city staff members who participated
in putting the draft 2012 budget together.
Your work is very much appreciated and the
efforts you put into the sound financial
planning for the future of Mendota Heights is
appreciated by current and future residents to
come.

Thanks Robin
Airport Relations Commissioner Robin Ehrlich
informed the City Council this week that we will
have to resign his seat on the commission due
to work commitments and time conflicts. Robin
has been a member of the Airport Relations
Commission since February 2006 and currently
serves as the commission vice-chair. Robin
has played a key role in working with the
Metropolitan Airports Commission on a number
of issues important to Mendota Heights.
Robin’s last meeting as a member of the
commission will be August 10, 2011. Thank
you for your service to the community Robin.
Your insight and community knowledge will be
sorely missed by your fellow commissioners
and city staff. Good luck in the future and
thanks for everything you do for Mendota
Heights.
Fire Department
The Fire Department responded to a house
fire on Sibley Court this week after a house
was struck by lightning and started a fire. It
took the department about an hour to put
out the fire and ensure that there were no
lingering issues. Thank you to the Fire
Department for your quick response to this
fire, for helping the residents deal with this
issue and for the work you do for our
community!
