Thanks also to Nancy Bauer and Michael Albers who helped get things prepared for the big day. Pilot Knob Brochure The Pilot Knob Preservation Association (PKPA) is pleased to officially release a interpretive brochure for Historic Pilot Knob, a project which was a partnership between PKPA, the Minnesota Historical Society and the City of Mendota Heights. The brochure is available at several public facilities; PKPA sent 600+ copies out to their mailing list. The brochure may also be found at PKPA’s website: www.pilotknobpreservation.org. In response to the mailing, PKPA has been receiving positive feedback not just about the brochure, but also the preservation and restoration of the site. Gail Lewellan with PKPA would like to remind all citizens that this has been a wonderful success which the community should be proud of. 5K is Right Around the Corner The sixth annual Mendota Heights 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, June 5, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Village. The Saint Thomas Academy Advanced Placement Environmental Studies class will be in attendance to make their annual presentation on the chemical assessment of Rogers Lake. This is a presentation that the council always finds very interesting and there are always a lot of questions of the students who are presenting the information. If you have the interest in this topic and are free on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. you are highly encouraged to attend or watch this presentation. The students do an excellent job and share interesting information with the council and the residents. Thank You City staff recognized the work of the administrative professionals that we have working in our organization this week. Staff went to lunch at Lucky 13’s as a part of the thank you celebration for the work that each of you do for our organization. We would not be the type of city that we are today without the hard work and support you provide to the council, commissions, staff and residents on a daily basis. Thank you again for all the work that you do. Thank you also to Becky for covering the front desk so we could take the time to celebrate.
