ARC Orientation
Three new members on the Airport Relations
Commission received an “Airports 101”
orientation session this week. All members of
the ARC wanted to hear the orientation
session so it was incorporated into the regular
meeting this week. Former ARC Chair and
current City Councilmember Liz Petschel
provided a history of the airport, runways,
terminology, how cities around the airport work
together and some predictions on how
technology will impact the future of airport
noise in the area. The orientation led to an
excellent exchange of information and ideas.
The ARC will continue to perform their work on
behalf of the residents of Mendota Heights.
The ARC is looking forward to a tour of the air
traffic control center located in Farmington to
further their education.

Par 3 Opens Today
The snow is gone, the temperatures are
rising and golf season starts today. Staff
has the clubhouse and course ready for
another great season of golf.
Make sure to play a few rounds at the Par
3 this year, you will not find a better value
when it comes to greens fees. The course
is great for beginners, families and anyone
looking to practice their irons and putting.
The work to improve the course over the
past few years is really starting to show.
Tom Perkins and his crew look forward to
serving you.
City Staff Training
This year the city’s management team is
placing an emphasis being on providing in-
house training opportunities for city staff.
Lynn and Associates conducted training
this week for city staff and council
members on customer service, team
building and related issues. The training
focused on effective customer service skills,
self engagement, the attitude you bring into
your workplace and communicating
effectively. Even in the very different jobs
that each of us has the common basics of
customer service and communication apply
in all of the situations we get into as public
employees.
Thank you to the staff and councilmembers
who attended this training. Anyone with
questions from the training session can
email Lisa Lynn, her contact information is
on the handout material.
