City Planner Interviews
The City Council interviewed four firms on
Wednesday evening for the city planner
position. Since it had been ten years since
the city went out to bid on this service, city
staff thought it would be a good idea to
look at this issue. After interviewing all of
the firms and discussing their merits, the
city council decided to continue to have
Northwestern Associated Consultants
serve as the city’s contracted planner. The
council was very happy with the
consultants who submitted proposals and
looks forward to a continued positive
relationship with the city planner.
Good Luck Cadets
Congrats to the Saint Thomas Academy
boys hockey team for making it to the state
tournament this week and earning the
number one seed. The Cadets defeated
New Ulm in their first game of the state
tournament on Wednesday by a score of
13-2. St. Thomas Academy will next take
on Thief River Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
The winner of that game will move on to the
class A championship game scheduled at
noon on Saturday, March 12, 2011. The
state tournament is taking place at the Xcel
Energy Center in St. Paul. All of the games
can be viewed on television as well. Good
luck to the Cadets in your run for the state
championship and congratulations on a
very successful season. You are
representing the school and the community
with a great deal of pride and class. You
are already champions to your fans in
Mendota Heights!
