Ord 236 Establish Commercial Street Lighting Tax DistrictCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 23,6 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL STREET LIGHTING TAX DISTRICT IN THE CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS Authority: SECTION 1. The City is empowered by Minnesota Law 1986, Chapter 415, to form a special Tax District to provide financing for operation and maintenance of Commercial Street Lights. SECTION 2. The City held the required public hearing on May 19, 1987, to establish such District, and by Resolution No. 87-45, has approved the boundaries to be incorporated into such District as shown on attached Exhibit A and identified by Property Identification Numbers in Exhibit B. SECTION 3. That the City shall, as a part of its 1988 budget approval, hold a hearing for the property in said District to approve levy of a special tax against the taxable property in said District for payment of all operating and maintenance expenses in subsequent years. SECTION 4. That the City shall also compute a service charge based on the assessor's valuation of any property exempt from taxation which shall be billed to owners of such exempt property as permitted under Minnesota Statute. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 45 days after its publication according to law. Enacted and ordained into an Ordinance this 16th day of June, 1987.
