Res 2008-79 Authorizing Mutual Police AgreementCity of Mendota Heights County of Dakota It 111 [C 0 10 LOXII: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL POLICE ASSITANCE AGREEMENT FOR ENFORCEMENT OF TRAFFIC SAFETY LAWS WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights desires to participate in the Dakota County Traffic Safety Group Grant Project and WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Statute 471.59 requires a resolution of the City Council to participate and WHEREAS, the City has previously entered into grants to provide increased traffic enforcement and educational activities and WHEREAS, the City has partnered with other Dakota County law enforcement agencies to increase traffic safety in the community and WHEREAS, the City will partner the 11 other government entities in Dakota County to increase traffic safety. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights have duly considered this matter and believe that it is in the best interests of the City to enter into a Mutual Police Assistance Agreement for Enforcement of Traffic Safety Laws with other members of the Dakota County Traffic Safety Group to provide enhanced traffic enforcement. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Attorney are hereby authorized to execute such agreement and any amendments, and thereby assume for and on behalf of the City all of the contractual obligations contained therein.
