Res 2009- 86 Authorizing Sanitary Sewer RatesCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 09-86 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SANITARY SEWER USAGE RATES BEGINNING IN THE 4"' QUARTER OF 2009 WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights aspires to have a self - funded sanitary sewer utility for the residents and businesses of the City; and, WHEREAS, annual expenditures (including fees paid to the Metropolitan Council Enviroiunental Services (MCES)) have increased over the past several years with annual revenues ramining relatively flat; and WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights has not had the need to raise sanitary sewer rates since 1994; and, WHEREAS, Sanitary Sewer Utility expenditures (including rates charged by MCES) are anticipated to continue rising over the foreseeable future; NOW THEREFORE IT IS HERBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the rate of charge for the use of the Sanitary Sewer Utility shall be set as follows effective the 4th quarter of 2009 (to be billed in January 2010): Residential Base Rate $50.00 Residential Additional Rate per 750 gallons $ 1.95 Commercial Sewer Rate (per Quarter) Minimum Per Meter Size Proposed Rate 3/4 Inch $ 83.00 1 Inch $96.00 1 1/4 Inch $130.00 1 1/2 Inch $257.00 2 Inch $514.00 3 Inch $1,029.00 Commercial Well Sewer Rate (per Quarter) Minimum Per Meter Size Proposed Rate Minimum Per Meter Size Proposed Rate 5/8 Inch $172.00 2Inch $814.00 3/4 Inch $172.00 3Inch $1,629.00 1Inch $234.00 4Inch $3,450.00 11 /4Inch $294.00 6Inch $7,501.00 11 /2Inch $400.00 Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 6"' day of October 2009.
