In 1983, the City issued conduit debt for the Lexington Heights Apartments and they are requesting refinancing of that debt. Conduit debt is not an obligation of the City as it is a pass - through. This is debt that has already been issued and they are refunding that debt. May 7, 2013 Mendota Heights City Council Page 2 Councilmember Duggan questioned the $30,000 difference. Finance Director Schabacker explained that the project consists of refinancing the outstanding principal amount of the City's $9,100,000 Multifamily Housing Revenue Refunding Bonds (Lexington Heights Apartments Project) Series 1991A and $1,870,000 Multifamily Housing Revenue Refunding Bonds (Lexington Heights Apartments Project) Series 1991B; for a total of $10,970,000. However, the maximum aggregate estimated principal amount of the bonds or other obligations to be issued, in one or more series, by the City to refinance the project will be $11,000,000. The extra $30,000 allows them some room to make adjustments, if necessary. Councilmember Duggan moved to approve RESOLUTION 2013 -33, CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE REFUNDING BONDS AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE OF HEARING (LEXINGTON HEIGHTS APARTMENTS).
