RESOLUTION 2026-53
RESOLUTION FORMALLY AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE 2027
MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TRAFFIC
ENFORCEMENT GRANT
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety has a mandate to promote the safety of those
who use public roadways; and
WHEREAS, the National Highway Traffic Administration provides funding to the
Office of Traffic Safety to reduce traffic crashes and deaths, injuries, and property damage
resulting from those crashes; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety, through the Minnesota Department of Public
Safety, opened a grant to address traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, grants awarded through this process would be used to reduce traffic crashes
and deaths, injuries, property damage resulting from those crashes, and address traffic safety
concerns; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights desires to support the
efforts to address the traffic safety concerns, thereby increasing safety on roadways in Mendota
Heights.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Mendota Heights does hereby authorize the Mendota Heights Police Department to participate in
the 2027 Minnesota Department of Public Safety Traffic Enforcement Grant.
