SUBJECT: Municipal Campus Building Project -- Building Plan and Financing
ACTION REQUEST:
The purpose of this work session is to provide the City Council with an opportunity to discuss
the current status of the Municipal Campus Project, review recent updates to the site and
building plans, and receive an overview of potential financing strategies.
ICS, the city's project consultant will be in attendance to discuss building design plans and
costs. The city's financial advisor, Stacie Kvilvang with Ehlers will be in attendance to present
information on financing strategies.
No formal action is requested or anticipated at this work session. The discussion is intended to
provide direction to staff and the project team as planning continues.
BACKGROUND:
During the work session, the Council will discuss the following topics:
Project Design Update
•Revisions to the schematic design plans based on Council and community feedback.
•Building placement and site layout.
•Park and open space considerations.
•Status of discussions regarding Mertensotto Field and replacement planning.
•Next steps in advancing the design.
Project Financing
•Overview of the current project cost estimate.
•Impact of $4 million in state bonding funds and B3 impacts.
•Financing assumptions, including the issuance of bonds and other potential funding
opportunities.
•Project schedule and future financial milestones.
