A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE REBUILDING OF
A DETACHED GARAGE AT 1857 DODD ROAD
WHEREAS, Dorothy Haffely has applied for a conditional use permit for the rebuilding of a
detached garage at 1857 Dodd Road [Lot 38, Somerset Hills; PID 27- 71050- 380 -00] as proposed in
Planning Case #10 -16; and
WHEREAS, the planning commission held a public hearing on this application at their regular
meeting on May 25, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the planning commission recommended that the council approve the conditional use
permit for the rebuilding of a detached garage as presented to the planning commission on the evening of
May 25, 2010 and as shown in planning case #10 -16.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mendota Heights City Council that a
conditional use permit for the rebuilding of a detached garage as proposed in planning case #10 -16 is
hereby approved with the following conditions:
1. The detached garage shall match the home in color and materials.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Mendota Heights City Council that a conditional use
permit for the rebuilding of a detached garage as proposed in planning case #10 -16 is hereby approved
with the following findings of fact:
1. The proposed detached garage should not affect the health, safety and welfare of the occupants
of the surrounding lands.
2. The proposed detached garage shall not influence traffic conditions or parking facilities on
adjacent streets.
3. A detached garage on a single family lot is a compatible use within the designated land use
district.
4. There is no reason to believe that the proposed detached garage would seriously depreciate the
surrounding property value.
5. The detached garage meets the Ordinance requirements.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this First day of June 2010.
