RESOLUTION 10-57
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A WETLANDS PERMIT FOR A RETAINING WALL, PLANTINGS
AND ACCESSORY STRUCTURE AT 2464 WESTVIEW TERRACE
WHEREAS, Stephen and Sherry Kampa have applied for a wetlands permit for a retaining wall,
plantings and accessory structure at 2464 Westveiw Terrace [Lot 9, Block 1 Bridgeview Shores 2nd addition; PID
27.15151.090.01] as proposed in planning case #10 -23; and
'WHEREAS, the planning commission held a public hearing on this application at their regular meeting
on July 27, 2010; and
WH.EREAS,.the planning commission recommended that the council approve the wetlands permit for a
retaining wall, plantings and accessory structure as presented to the planning commission on the evening of July
27, 2010 and as shown in planning case #10-23.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mendota Heights City Council that a wetlands permit
for a retaining wall, plantings and accessory strucuture as proposed in planning case #10 -23 is hereby approved
with the following conditions:
1. A revised site plan indicating the setbacks from the boulder wall and storage shed to the wetland
shall be submitted for review.
2. A detailed Landscape Plan shall be submitted and approved by staff.
3. All construction /excavation work must be located outside of the wetland.
4. All construction activities must follow the Land Disturbance Guidance Document.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Mendota Heights City Council that a wetlands permit for a
retaining wall, plantings and accessory structure as proposed in planning case #10 -23 is hereby approved with the
following finding of fact:
1. The project meets the intent of the wetlands ordinance.
2. The project has been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer, subject to the above mentioned
conditions.
3. The wetland itself will be untouched.
4. The area between the improved lawn and the wetland will be planted with native vegetation to serve
as a buffer.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this Third day of August 2010.
