RESOLUTION 2013 - 07
RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL DESIGN PLANS FOR THE
TRUNK HIGHWAY 110 AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 149 INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING SOLICITATION OF BIDS
FOR CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights has identified the public safety need
for improvements to the pedestrian crossings at Trunk Highway 110 and Trunk Highway
149, also known as Dodd Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights desires to create a pedestrian and
bicycle friendly city by improving areas where pedestrian and bicycle safety concerns
exist; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights completed a Feasibility Study of
several alternatives to correct the pedestrian safety concerns at the Trunk Highway 110
and Trunk Highway 149 intersection; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights applied for and was awarded a
Transportation Enhancement grant through the Metropolitan Council to complete the
desired at-grade intersection improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights, with the cooperation of a consultant
engineer, has completed design plans for the improvement of the pedestrian crossing
facilities at the intersection; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mendota Heights City
Council, that the plans and specifications for the Trunk Highway 110 and Trunk Highway
149 Intersection Improvement Project be and they are hereby in all respects approved by
the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Mendota Heights City Council, that the
Clerk with the aid and assistance of the City Engineer be and is hereby, authorized and
directed to advertise for bids for the Trunk Highway 110 and Trunk Highway 149
Intersection Improvement Project all in accordance with the applicable Minnesota
Statutes, such as bids to be received at the City Hall of the City of Mendota Heights by
10:00 A.M., on a date to be identified in the solicitation documents, and at which time
they will be publicly opened at Mendota Heights City Hall by the City Engineer, will
then be tabulated, and will then be considered by the City Council at its next regular
Council meeting.
