Res 2010-104 Defining Firemen's Relief Assoc Benefit Plan Annual ContributionCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 10- 104 RESOLUTION DEFINING FIREMEN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION BENEFIT PLAN ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights fire relief association has a defined benefit pension plan; and WHEREAS, the city council approved an amount of $550 per active fireman per year to be contributed to the defined benefit pension plan in December 2009; WHEREAS, the city council decided at the August 2010 budget workshop to have an additional amount of $200 per active firefighter per year contributed to the defined benefit pension plan for 2010; WHEREAS, the firefighters elected to not have an increase in wages from 1992-2005 resulting in a cumulative amount of $29,603.75 being contributed to the defined benefit pension plan; WHEREAS, the accumulated amount of $29,603.75 was proposed to become part of a flat number and will be divided by 36 firefighters for an additional $822 to be added to the base amount; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mendota Heights City Council that the city contribution for 2010 will be equal to $1,572 ($750+$822) per active firefighter.
