RESOLUTION NO. 2026-03
RENEWING THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
BETWEEN DAKOTA COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights desires to follow Minnesota
Statute 471.59 "Joint Exercise of Powers'; and
WHEREAS, this requires the governing bodies of the agency enter into an
agreement; and
WHEREAS, the agreement must address certain items including, but not
limited to, liability, purpose of the agreement, disbursement of funds, termination
of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City currently partners with Dakota County to provide
updates to the Emergency Operations Manual and training regarding Emergency
Management; and
WHEREAS, the City believes continuing to participate with Dakota County
through a joint powers agreement will enhance our ability to respond to
emergencies in the City of Mendota Heights; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights has duly
considered this matter and wishes to continue participation with this agency to
provide increased emergency management services through a joint powers
agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of
Mendota Heights that the renewal of the Emergency Management Joint Powers
Agreement between Dakota County and the City of Mendota Heights is hereby
approved.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 6th day of
January, 2026.
