City Administrator Jacobson noted that the FAA did not present at the NOC meeting held earlier in the day and that there may be no other presentations prior to the public listening sessions in August. She said the NOC will reconvene its subcommittee to review the FAA’s responses. She stated that the public listening and comment meetings are scheduled for August 14 and August 15, 2024. Commissioner Sharma asked if the commissioners should attend the listening sessions as a Mendota Heights ARC commissioner, or as a Mendota Heights resident. City Administrator Jacobson confirmed that either is fine; the commissioner can choose. She stated that the city will inform residents of the upcoming sessions through the usual communication methods. Commissioner Dunn speculated that residents may be upset for a short while, but in time it’ll pass and become the norm and much ado about nothing. He thinks that Minneapolis residents may be affected more than Mendota Heights. Chair Norling asked for clarification on items # 6, 17-19 of the response letter. Commissioner Hamiel shared his personal insight into the FAA responses to those items in question.
