BACKGROUND: City and Dakota County staff have worked with SEH, the engineering and design consultant, to procure plans for the River to River Greenway through Valley Park between Marie Avenue and Lilydale Road. Dakota County developed a Master Plan for this Greenway in 2015 which was supported by the Mendota Heights City Council under resolution 2015-39 and includes the segment through Valley Park. As the Project Management Team (PMT) is nearing final plan production, the PMT desires to share the plans with the Council to discuss impacts on trees and desired features through the park ahead of finalizing the plan set. Dakota County staff have prepared a presentation summarizing the proposed scope of improvements and will highlight key areas with significant impacts and additional features that are not present today for discussion with the City Council.
